COMPLICATION They were excited about this and spent so much
time choosing the dresses they would wear. Finally,
the ball came, and away went the sisters.
Cinderella could not help crying after they left. Why
are crying, Cinderella? The voice asked. He looked
up and saw her fairy godmother standing beside
her, because I wanted to go to the ball Cinderella.
Well godmother said, you've been such a cheerful,
hardworking, uncomplaining girl that I will see that
you go to the ball. Magic, fairy godmother turned a
pumpkin into a coach and mice into a smooth two
coachmen and footman. Her godmother tapped
Cinderella's dress with her wand, and it became a
beautiful ball gown.
RESOLUTION Then he gave her a pair of pretty glass slippers.
Now, Cinderella, she said, you have to go before
midnight. Then he drove away a wonderful coach.
Cinderella had a marvelous time either. She danced
again and again with the king 's son. Suddenly the
clock began to strike twelve, she ran toward the
door as fast as he could do. In her hurry, one of her
glass slipper behind. A few days later, the child king
declared that he would marry the girl whose feet
fitted the glass slipper. Stepsisters try on shoes, but
it was too small for them, no matter how hard they
squeezed their toes into it.
MORAL VALUE The moral of "Cinderella" is that people must
always fight for what they want with a good heart
and hard work. Cinderella has never been negative
or angry because of how bad her stepbrother and
stepmother treated her, and she continues to work
hard even though there are things that seem
hopeless. Don't be a bad and greedy person.
COMMENTS In my opinion the story of the Cinderella story is
quite interesting so that it can captivate the
readers.This Cinderella story is suitable to be read
by all ages, both adults and children.The story of
this folktale is very good because it has a good
moral message because it has taught us that we
should not be bad people.

COMPLICATION “Bagenda Endit, have mercy on me! My child has
not eaten for few days”, said an old woman sadly.
“Hi, you crazy old woman! Get away from me!”
yelled Bagenda Endit threw the old woman away.
Because the old woman didn’t want to go, Bagenda
Endit splashed her with water. Splash!, and all over
the old woman body and her baby became wet.
Bagenda Endit was a feeling less woman. She
didn’t even have a little bit mercy to the old
woman and her baby. She even got more angry.
After that, she asked the old woman to get out of
her house yard. And then, she was dragging her out
of the yard.
Although Bagenda Endit was very miserly, the
village people kept coming in. The came for the
water wheel. “No, I won’t let you to take away the
water from my wheel! The water in the wheel is
mine!” Bagenda Endit yelled angrily.
“Ha…ha…ha…you’re all stupid! You think you just
can take the water from my wheel!” Bagenda Endit
said while she was watching the thirst villagers
outside the fence. Suddenly, a decrepit man was
standing in Bagenda Endit house yard. He was
walking tottery to the wheel while holding his stick.
When the old man was trying to take the water,
Bagenda Endit saw it. Then, she hit the old man
with a founder. “Have mercy on me Bagenda Endit!
I want to take the water just for a drink”, said the
old man when he was trying to get up.
Bagenda Endit kept beating the old man. And
then, an astonishing thing happened. Suddenly the
old man got up with a healthy body. He walked
closer to Bagenda Endit. He pointed his stick at the
cruel rich woman’s nose.
RESOLUTION “Hi, Bagenda Endit, take the punishment from me!”
said the old man loudly. Then he pointed at the
wheel with his stick. Wus…byuur, the wheel was
sprinkling the water swiftly. Not long enough, the
water was flooding up. Bagenda Endit couldn’t save
herself. She drawn with all of her wealth.
The village was disappeared. The thing that left
was a wide and deep lake. The lake was named Situ
Bagendit. Situ means a wide lake. It was named
Situ Bagendit, because the wide lake came from a
wheel that belongs to Bagenda Endit.
MORAL VALUE The moral of the story legend Situ Bagendit that
people should live together and help each other.
Don’t be greedy because it only brings dissaster.
COMMENTS In my opinion the story of the Sangkuriang legend
is quite interesting so that it can captivate the
readers.This sangkuriang story is suitable to be
read by all ages, both adults and children.
This legend story is very good because it has a good
moral message.

COMPLICATION One day, the mouse deer was thirsty. He wanted
to drink in the river but he knew that crocodiles
were staying and waiting underwater to eat him. Hi
thought hard and got bright idea. He said out
loudly. “I will put in my leg and find out whether
the water is warm or not” Of course the mouse
deer did not do what he said. He did not put his leg
but the mouse deer took a wood stick and put one
end into the water. Blurrr…! Surely a crocodile
grabbed the wood stick and pulled it underwater.
Seeing that, the mouse deer laughed and said
“Stupid crocodile! Can’t you see the difference
between a wood stick and a leg?” Then the mouse
deer ran to another side of the river and drink
some water.
One day, Dayang Sumbi asked her son to go hunting with his lovely dog, Tumang.
After hunting all day, Sangkuriang began desperate and worried because he
hunted no deer. Then he thought to shot his own dog. Then he took the dog liver
and carried home.
Soon Dayang Sumbi found out that it was not deer lever but Tumang's, his own
dog. So, She was very angry and hit Sangkuriang's head. In that incident,
Sangkuriang got wounded and scar then cast away from their home.
Years go bye, Sangkuriang had travel many places and finally arrived at a village.
He met a beautiful woman and felt in love with her. When they were discussing
their wedding plans, The woman looked at the wound in Sangkuriang's head. It
matched to her son's wound who had left severall years earlier. Soon she realized
that she felt in love with her own son. She couldn't marry him but how to say it.
Then, she found the way. She needed a lake and a boat for celebrating their
wedding day. Sangkuriang had to make them in one night. He built a lake. With a
dawn just moment away and the boat was almost complete. Dayang Sumbi had
to stop it. Then, she lit up the eastern horizon with flashes of light. It made the
cock crowed for a new day.
Sangkuriang failed to marry her. She was very angry and kicked the boat. It felt
over and became the mountain of Tangkuban Perahu Bandung.
Bawang Merah and Bawang Putih
In village, live a widow with her two beautiful daughters, Bawang Merah (Red
Onion) and Bawang Putih (White Garlic). Bawang Putih's real father which was
also the widows's husband died long ago. Bawang Merah and Bawang Putih had
opposite characters and personalities. Bawang Putih was diligent, kind, honest
and humble girl. Meanwhile, Bawang merah was lazy, glamorous, proud and
envious girl.
One day, Bawang Putih was doing her step-mother and sister's laundry. Bawang
Putih didn't realize it when a piece of cloth belonged to her mother was washed
away by the river. How sad was she, thinking that if the cloth couldn't be found
she would be blamed, and it wasn't impossible that she would bu punished and
expelled from home. Being afraid that her mother cloth could not be found,
Bawang Putih kept looking and walked along the river with its strong current.
Every time she saw someone by the river, she always asked him or her about her
mother's cloth which was washed away by the river, but everyone didn't know
where the cloth was. Eventually Bawang Putih came to a place where the river
flowed into a cave. Surprisingly, there was a very old woman in the cave. Bawang
Putih asked the old woman if she knew of the cloth whereabouts. The woman
knew where the cloth was, but she made a condition before she handed it to
Bawang Putih. The condition was that she had to work assisting the old woman.
Bawang Putih was used to working hard so that her work pleased the old woman.
It was late afternoon and Bawang Putih was saying goodbye to the old woman.
The woman handed the cloth to her. because of her kindness, the old woman
offered her a gift of pumpkins. There were two of them, one was larger than the
other. Bawang Putih was asked to choose the gift she wanted. She wasn't greedy,
there she chose the smaller one.
Returning home, the Step-Mother and Bawang Merah were furious because
Bawang Putih was late. She told them what happened from the time her mother's
cloth was washed away until her encounter with the old woman in the cave. Her
step-mother was still furious because she was already late and only brought one
small pumkin, so the mother smashed the pumpkin to the ground. "Whack..." and
the pumpkin was broken, but it was miraculous that in the pumpkin there were
beautiful golden, jewel, and diamond ornaments. The Widow and Bawang Merah
were very schocked. They could get very rich with that much jewelry. But greedy
they were, they yelled at Bawang Putih asking why she didn't take the large
pumkin instead. In the Widow and Bawang Merah's minds, if the larger pumpkin
was taken, they should get much more jewelry. Fulfilling their greed, Bawang
Merah folowed the steps told by Bawang Putih. She wilingly drifted her mother's
cloth, walked along the river, asked people and eventually came to the cave
where the old woman lived. Unlike Bawang Putih, however, bawang Merah
refused the old woman's order to work and She even arrogantly ordered the old
woman to give her the larger pumpkin. And so the old woman gave it to Bawang
Merah. Bawang Merah happily brought the pumpkin that the old woman gave,
while imagining how much jewelry she would get. Returning home, the Widow
welcomed her beloved daughter. Not waiting for long, the pumpkin was smashed
to the ground, "whack ..." but instead of the jewelry, appeared various terrifying
snakes. The Widow and Bawang Merah finally realized what they did all this time
was wrong and asked Bawang Putih to forgive them.

Cinderella. He lived with his mother and two sisters. Mother and sister arrogant
and bad tempered. They treated Cinderella very badly. Step mother made
Cinderella do the hardest job in the house, such as scrubbing the floor, cleaning
the pot and pan and preparing food for the family. Second step sister, on the
other hand, does not work on the house. Their mother gave them many
handsome dresses to wear. One day, two half-brothers received an invitation to
the ball that the king 's son would give at the palace.

Far away in an isolated village there was a young rich woman. The house that she
had been living in was very big. Her wealth was plentiful. The young woman lived
by herself. She didn’t have any friend at all.
“Wouw, I am very rich! Ha…ha…ha, I am the richest woman in this village!” said
the young woman while she was looking at her gold and jewelries. It was so pity,
that the young woman was very miserly. Her plentiful wealth never been used to
help others.
Because of the young woman miserly, the villagers called her Bagenda Endit.

“Crocodiles come up!” then some crocodiles rose from the water. They looked
happy and saw their sharp teeth and said “Hello, Mouse Deer. Do you come to be
my lunch? We are hungry” The mouse deer just smiled and replied. “Sorry,
Crocodiles, not today, I come to you to bring an invitation from the king. You are
invited to the party. The king ordered me to count all crocodiles in this river so he
knew how to prepare enough meal for you.”
All the crocodiles felt happy and said “Really…? Tell us what to do,” said a
crocodile. “You have to line up from this side of the river to the other side,” said
the mouse deer. Not long after that the crocodile got all his friends and family. He
ordered to lined up across the river. the mouse deer then jumped on the
Crocodile’s back. “One,” the mouse deer counted. He jumped onto the next
crocodile, “Two.” And he jumped again on the next crocodile, “Three.” he kept
jumping until he arrived on the other side of the river. “Just enough,” said the
mouse deer. “I have counted all of you” He laughed and ran to the field of grass.
The Lion and the Mouse
One day a lion was resting in the forest. He was sleeping and leaning his body
under a tree. Then a mouse ran toward the lion without seeing him asleep in front
of him. He was bumping the lion’s face so hard that made him awake.
The lion woke up and mad at him, “Woaahhh, how dare you disturb my sleep?”
Then the lion caught the mouse. “I’m sorry my king! I accidentally hit you! “He
said. “I will eat you because you have wakened me up!” cried the lion.
“Please! Do not eat me my king; I will reply your kindness someday if you let me
go! “Beg the mouse. Hearing what was said by the mouse, the lion laugh out loud,
“HHaaaa you will repay my kindness? How can a little creature like you can help
me!” He said. Then He looked at the mouse who was frightened. “Well since
you’ve made me laugh, I’ll let you go. Moreover, you cannot make me satisfied
“said the Lion while releasing the mouse.
After he let him go, the mouse ran and said, “I will not forget your kindness.
Thank you “. Then he was back into the forest. One day the lion was caught by
hunter’s trap. He was trapped in a net installed by hunter. The lion was struggling
trying to escape from the net. But all of his efforts were useless because the net
was too strong. Then he was screaming for help “Please, save me!” the lion cried.
The mouse that was foraging in the forest heard lion’ screams. “That is lion.
Seemed he is in trouble now. I have to help him “said the mouse. Soon afterward
he went to lion. When he got there, he saw a lion that had trapped helpless in
hunter’s nets. “Hey, do not be afraid, I’ll help you escape from this bondage” said
the mouse. “What? You want to save me? Don’t be kidding “said the lion. Then
the mouse was climbing to the top of the net and began biting rope nets one by
one with his sharp teeth. The lion, who initially did not believe, surprised to see
what he did.
After a while the ropes broken and the lion could get out of the entanglement
nets, “Thank you! My little friend, you have freed me. I do not think you can do it
“said the lion. “You are welcome my friend. I had promised to repay your
kindness someday so I did it “replied the mouse. After that they were always
together and became good friends in the forest.
