ABSTRACT
Nowadays people live differently because of pandemic. People feel
uncomfortable going crowded department stores, limited customer could enter
the store and having queue lines is very stressing especially that its pandemic.
So, Pick-Up-Pack: Online Grocery System is an online system that helps
customer to buy groceries online in fast and efficient way. This system presents
online displays of the grocery items they want to sell. Customer can choose their
daily needs and add the products to their shopping cart. Once the customer’s
order is submitted the department staff pack the groceries and customers can
pick up their groceries anytime in the department store. This project aims to
create a system that is online and accessible to the customer anytime anywhere.

 An online grocery system that is fast and efficient, can be able to grocery

THE PROBLEM
 Due to pandemic limited customers could enter the department store,
customers within the store could experience tong shopping queue line,
customer can’t be able to see the product availability along the store and it
is hassle and time consuming especially customers with busy schedules.
 Limited customer could enter the store and having queue lines is very
stressing especially that its pandemic. Other customers also have a busy
schedule and doesn’t have enough time to buy groceries.

COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES
 The Pick-Up Pack Online Grocery System has way more useful in this
specific time frame since pandemic occur limited person are allowed to be
inside the store and by means of that it has long queue lines then we
develop a product that will help the grocery store cater more customer not
just personally but also it could be done online by having an online grocery
system in which it could conveniently caters customer for their order in the
grocery and this system is accessible anytime and anywhere, one of the
most reliable grocery system that we could offer to the company itself and
along with customer.
REVENUE STREAM
 Grocery Partners
Pick-Up Pack lets the grocery stores display their products on the
website and charge a commission in return. The revenue-sharing
agreement mentions the commissions, which entitles Pick-Up Pack to a
percentage of the product’s price every time a product is sold through its
platform.
 Delivery Fee
Just like any other on-demand delivery services, Instacart charges
a delivery fee from its users. The standard delivery charge is P50.00 and

can get higher depending on factors such as high demand, external
conditions (rain, traffic, etc.), the proximity of delivery location, etc. Yet, as
it is called Pick-Up Pack it is up to the customer to pick-up or have the
company service deliver.
Apart from this, there is also a service charge which ranges from 5
to 10 percent of your order.
 In-app Advertising
When you open the Pick-Up Pack Online Grocery website, you see
certain ads. Also, some stores always appear at the top of the list. This is
because these stores opt for paid-ads to increase their visibility and reach
more customers. This is another great way to gain additional revenue.
 Mark-up Price
Although the prices mentioned on the application are the same as
the prices charged in stores, Pick-Up Pack sometimes charges a higher
price.
This mark-up price is generally 5 to 10 percent higher than the in-
store prices. This could vary from store-to-store and product-to-product. It
may also be the case during high demand and limited stock scenarios.

Personally, due to pandemic studies being brought into online classes has
been way more struggle for a student. It is not just about being a student on an 8
hours per day basis but that was no guarantee of having more responsibilities as
a son, as a child, as part of the family. Through pandemics, students may tend to
analyze and solve something within their own capabilities of understanding
something. Having the capability of understanding some lesson and nurturing
those things to understand it might become a habit since we used to be taught
something in order for us to learn and understand. But the table has been turned
we’re the ones that needed to learn new things in our own way, our own
understanding, and our own capabilities.
As reminiscing the past events or how things used to be in the past, we
can’t deny the fact that being able to learn new things in our own way, our own
understanding is one of the most struggles that we’re able to face since there is a
lesson that even though many times we’re going to read, how many times we’re
going to analyze but there are things that we couldn’t understand the whole
definition or the real meaning itself.
As a student in Bachelor of Science in Information Technology major in
Business Analytics being enrolled in the subject of ELEC 4 - Human-Computer &
Interaction 2, having this kind of subject tends to be an amazing experience since
it talks about presenting something new, this is literally something new which has

never existed or not yet develop that we are going to present to the panel. It
requires shaping your imagination into the newer level that could be able to
imagine things quite unrealistic, being able to imagine things that aren’t yet been
developed or being presented in the market. Moreover, this subject does not give
only amazing experience but also it happens that through this subject there are
things we could say to redo, rewrite, rework the things that have already done,
some part of it talks about how hard it to choose a title, how hard the subject
could it be since it requires something new. Furthermore, having this kind of
subject and through a pandemic, it happens that they were similarly connected
since, we are thought to analyze something out from our curiosity, from our
imagination, learn to understand something on our own and also this subject
requires us to be more open not just for our curiosity but more deeply or should I
say our mind needed more to reimagine things we badly need in our society
today.
In conclusion, the newer things, lessons, imagination, curiosity we deal
with for some reason helps us to become more open as an individual, those
experience taught me to keep moving forward even there are things you couldn’t
keep, this gives something in which to be thankful of it is to be someone or to be
a person who analyzes things, settle things, learn from things.

We are all been affected by the current COVID-19 pandemic and its
impacts and consequences are felt differently as a member of society. Since the
Covid-19 pandemic disrupted the normal lifestyle of people all over the world, the
virtual world has come to the rescue. As a result, schools have been forced to
forego traditional classes and shift to online classes instead. Teaching and
learning activities that are usually carried out with face-to-face meetings have
turned into virtual meetings in various online learning application. We have no
choice but to continue our education through online learnings which is hard and
stressful.
As an Information Technology student with a Start-up subject and learning
online, we should be mindful to think and invent software and hardware that are
not been being invented. To be honest it is hard to think something that is not
invented but thanks to my groupmates that we did think something we could do.
Literally, it is true that two head are better than one. It is not very difficult to make
this project especially that your groupmates are working together and helping
each other. We may encounter hardships in making other requirements but still
we manage to do it by ourselves. Each one of us in our teams have something to
do to finish our requirements in this subject.
Moreover, having this startup subject is exciting but stressful especially
that we have other system or project we make in our other subject given the fact
that we have so much to do especially house choirs and cooking plus having
financial problem and family problem because of pandemic. Other issues I

encounter is having no stable internet in our area. for example, when we have to
google meet for our team to discuss the project or when we are having a
defense, I always find a way to find stable internet such as going to store with Wi-
Fi connection or find an area where internet is stable. But because of this I’ve
learn that we should know how to manage our time so that we can do both
responsibilities we have in our school and in our home.
In conclusion, this experience I have is physically, emotionally and
mentally stressful and I have encounter breakdowns and crying session all over
this semester not only in this subject but still, God is good all the time that he
never let go of my hand and guide me through my journey in learning something
new and gaining knowledge in this subject that I might share to future information
technology students. The bad or good memories and experiences that I will
reminisce and cherished. An all I can say that I am grateful that I have such a
wonderful and kind teammates and friends who help me and encourage me to
never give up and always see the good side of struggles in this subject. I hope
that all my hardship will be paid off. I’ve always reminded myself that all of this
struggles and hard work I encounter is for my future and my family.

Honestly, while I was in 4th year High school, I was not sure yet what
course I wanted to take. But there's something that I really like to do and that is
doing stuffs in the computer. And many say that IT is in demand these days so I
took it eventually. I was excited during the time I enrolled in this course. This was
also the year where Information and Communications Technology was one of the
most in-demand jobs.
BS in Information Technology is not just a course it is a dream for like me.
Difficult? Of course (not that hard actually but study hard!) there is nothing easy
on life but I assure you after all of your pain you will GAIN BIG. Enjoyable? It is!
Boring and interesting about BSIT? I can't think one on the boring side but a lot
on interesting side. You will be curious about computers, the history of
technology, you will know some trivia on the very common thing that you are
already using, you can never wish that it should stop. For traits and attitudes to
succeed this course you must have optimistic mind, analytical or logical thinking,
and be straight forward in every little thing you will face I'm glad that I didn't
regret that I took up BS Information Technology. My hobby of doing things in the
computer has been a great way for me to introduce me to the technology world.
My own perception about BSIT is that it's a combination of Programming,
Multimedia, Networking, and Business.
In the curriculum of SEAIT for BSIT, we're focused more on computer
programming and it really needs logic. If you like analyzing things and like
thinking ways how to solve complex problems, then this course is good for you.

We also tackled Multimedia on how to draw vector images using Adobe
Photoshop. We learned also how to share files, create UTP cables (Lan Cable in
computer), and connect 2 or more computers (Set-up in a computer shop) in our
Computer Networking subject. We were able to create our own website because
of our Web Programming subject. We have Business subjects as well that taught
us how to make a Business Plan and how technology can be integrated to your
own business.
I think that it's inevitable that there are students who will fail every
semester and students who will shift to another course. The top reason why
students shift is that they don't want programming that much because they are
not much into analysis and solving complex problems. I'm happy that I was able
to apply things I learned from real life.
I enjoyed learning and studying this course because there are lots of
things you can learn in this field. I am a person who always wanted to try and
learn new things so this course really suits my skills and interests. I would
recommend it to people with great passion in information technology, people who
are not afraid to learn new things and most of all, people who are patient enough
to deal with the ongoing technological advancements.
