Background of the Study Over the past few years, robberies in numerous places
have increased. The global wrongdoing rate has risen day by
day due to urbanization, unemployment, poverty, economic
recession, and social inequality, which will cause chaos in the
country (Cavas & Baballe). Many of our homes,
establishments, institutions, and agencies nowadays are
invaded primarily by force either via a criminal entry or
through smashing a window, entering through a cutting
celling or even entering through a closed door or occasionally
even an open window (Olarewaju,. Et al).
The door alarm has been designed to minimize the
number of thefts of properties in any corner of the world. It
has broad applicability in security and defense, ranging from
the safety of a simple household item to protecting a highly
valued organizational asset (Dharne,. et al). When it comes to
home security, the foremost priority is the family's safety.
There must be a system that protects our home, valuables,
and money against theft. It is not enough to lock the door or
use a pod-lock to lock the door; it does not help quite enough
to secure the safety of each individual and valuable assets,
because there are many ways to destroy that equipment to
get inside the property, so with the help of the door alarm, it
can give notice to the individuals. They can prepare for their
safety, which is the primary purpose of having a door alarm.
A door alarm is a device or system that detects any
unwanted movement from doors. This device can be utilized
in residential and industrial properties. It assures the safety of
the people and the precious assets inside the premises. This
door alarm acts as a way to inform the people on the
property. With its help, they may be ready to seek help from
the authorities, who can then respond in a timely manner to
the ringing from the door, especially if it is late at night or no
one is inside the house.
The presence of a door alarm will give comfort to the
owner about their property even if they are far from the
property or inside the property. It helps to increase the
confidence of being securely safe from bad people who will
likely attempt robbery or a crime.
This device has been highly efficient in lowering the
number of attempted robberies because when they hear the
 loud noise from the alarm, they will feel fear, scared and run
far away from the property. This alarm fulfills its purpose
simply and effectively, providing fast notification to anyone on
the property or in surrounding houses or properties.
The convenience of the equipment is a massive thing for
everyone. So this anti-theft door alarm and the safety of each
will also make it convenient for the person to have it. It can
now be made with the equipment available from home, and
the other materials that will be needed can be easily found
outside the home. It is a way to find salvation through one's
work; that is why it can be an alternative to the other anti-
theft door alarm companies sell.
Research Question This investigatory project aims to find out if the
effectiveness of the alarm can be ensured. It also targets of
how accurate the door alarm in case of having unwanted
movements. Specifically, this investigatory project aims to
answer the following questions:

1. Why should have residential and industrial property

an anti-theft door alarm?
2. where there should be anti-theft door alarm?
3. When must I turn on and off the anti-theft door
alarm?
4. How accurate is the door alarm in case of
unwanted movement occurring?
5. How durable is the anti-theft door alarm?
6. How long will an anti-theft door alarm ring’s?
7. How far will be the range of the sound when the
alarm start ringing?
8. Is there required maintenance to maintain a
working anti-theft door alarm? If so, what are
they? and how?
9. How can you guarantee the effectiveness of the
security alarm?

Hypothesis  Residential and industrial buildings require Anti-theft

door alarms to ensure the safety and protection of
people and valuable items on the premises. In any part
of the region, people are attempting or likely to
attempt robbery and crime, so all residential and
industrial property should be obliged to have an anti-
theft door alarm to be vigilant and safe at the same
time.
 The anti-theft door alarm is ineffective in informing
people in nearby property.
 The anti-theft door alarm is particularly effective in
sending indicators and sounds to the people within.
 Being extremely successful in giving sounds, it is
enough to act immediately and ask or phone an
authorized individual who can help as promptly as
possible from the situation.
 The materials needed for the anti-theft door alarm
cannot find supplies within the house, they can be
found in a nearby store. It has become less expensive
to supply an anti-theft door alarm, so it is extremely
handy for the owner or people to have an anti-theft
door alarm for their safety.
 Old or unused items from the house can build an anti-
door alarm.
 If the anti-theft door alarm starts to sound, it will run
on constantly for 2 to 5 hours, and when it stops, it
will need to be charged.
 If making an alternative alarm at home using unused
materials or discarded resources, safety is ensured by
being convenient.

Scope of the Research This research study was conducted to have an

alternative device to prevent any evil deeds by certain people
to the properties involved in a certain community, such as
robbery and crimes. Using anti-theft alarms will detect if
someone opens or tries to open the doors at home, offices, or
any industrial property, which is the main entrance where
people first go. And the use of alternative alarms that will give
notification to act as soon as possible for the safety of people
or valuable assets in the property.
This study does not cover the assurance of safety. This
anti-theft door alarm has no responsibility for providing
mutual protection to those involved in the crime. It also gives
fear to the person who attempts to enter the property.
The research focused on the convenience of making
the model of anti-theft door alarm instead of buying a ready-
made or ready-to-use security alarm, which costs so much
more money than creating an accurate, durable, and reusable
anti-theft door alarm at home using various available
equipment that will not cost so much money.
