Degree Courses Accredited by SISV

The Singapore Institute of Surveyors and Valuers started its Accreditation Scheme of
Degree Courses for membership admission since 1994.

Its members comprise land surveyors, quantity surveyors and valuation and general
practice surveyors.

Applicants for membership must possess a minimum of a relevant Bachelor degree that is
accredited by SISV and/or equivalent professional qualification. Otherwise, the applicant
must sit for an entry examination subject to acceptance of their course syllabus. However,
applicants who graduated before 1994 with relevant basic degrees would be accepted as
Probationer members on a case-by-case basis.

Graduates of SISV accredited degree courses must undertake the Assessment of

Professional Competence (APC). The APC comprises a 24-month logging of local
professional work experience and an interview. This is specific to the area of the discipline
in which they wish to qualify and gain full Member status.

B) All graduates of MSc (Real Estate) and MRE-MBA DDP programmes are required to take Paper Two of
SISV’s Final Examination for Professional Membership (FEPM) before they are eligible to apply for SISV
membership in the discipline of Valuation under the Valuation & General Practice Division, subject to prevailing
membership admission requirements.

Quantity Surveying (QS) Division

1. Graduates with Degrees accredited by Pacific Association of Quantity Surveyors (PAQS) shall be
considered to have met the academic requirements for membership of the Singapore Institute of
Surveyors and Valuers - QS Division. They are required to meet the following:
• Two (2) year work experience and
• passing the Assessment of Professional Competency (APC)

2. SISV has a reciprocity agreement with the following institutes:

• The Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (AIQS)

• Building Surveyor’s Institute of Japan (BSIJ)
• The Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (CIQS)
• The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS)
• The New Zealand Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NZIQS)

Members (either Members or Fellows) in good standing of the above-mentioned institutes

shall be considered to have met the academic requirements for membership of the
Singapore Institute of Surveyors and Valuers - QS Division.

They are required to meet the following to be a member of SISV:
