2021 Model 3 LR: Nominal Full Pack (KWH) - Predicted Range (KM) vs. Driven Distance

The owner of a 2021 Tesla Model 3 LR has noticed a decline in battery capacity and predicted range over the past year. The battery capacity has declined from 73.5 kWh to 69.5 kWh, a decline of 5.44% over 40,000 km driven. If this rate of decline continues, the owner estimates that after 5 years the battery capacity will decline to 55.6 kWh and range will drop to 398.6 km. The owner is concerned this rate of decline is higher than the 1-2% Tesla estimates for the LG battery and wants Tesla to analyze the battery for any defects.

I own my Tesla-3 for a year, I extremely satisfy from the car at almost every aspect, I’m a great fun of Tesla

any how I have one concern:

My Tesla -3 are one year old this week, the expected range was declined from 540Km to 506Km about 6% yearly
declined

Accordingly, capacity was 73.5KWh when bought and now 69.5KWh this represents similarly 5.44% decline

) consider 74.5KWH LG battery when new, degradation show 6.5% /Year)

The case might be even worst if consider only last 6 moth, (20K Km) where most battery decided occurred

Look at battery decline per year consider last half year will indicate 12% capacity decline a year.

I do my best to maintain long range:

• Avoid Super-charge - 95.9% of my charge are AC. (11KWH)


• Avoid charge above 80% -> less than 2% of my charge are >80%
• Speed: I wasn’t drive too fast: look at my speed distribution.
• Didn’t Over-accelerate or use high capacity/KM - use 152 Wh/KM at my last 16K Km
Speed Distribution:
My last 16K Km was at 152Kh/Km – relatively chill drive.

Also my 41K km was at 163 Wh/Km chill drive.

Note that I started measure after 20K Km

Summery:

I want Tesla to analyze if there is any battery defect, as LG Long-Range battery, expected to decline <2% yearly,
or to replace my battery if needed…
