Parameter All Data Backup Procedure

Turret Punch Press & Fiber Laser with Fanuc 0i / 31i Controls
December 6, 2017

The following data can be backed up to a CompactFlash Card or USB memory device.
To recover, the CompactFlash Card must be used. After backing up, place a copy on the
files on the D: drive. Create a “Machine Backup” folder and place the files in a sub-folder
with a date stamp name formatted as “mmddyy”. The final folder location will be
“D:\Machine Backup\mmddyy\”.

Backup Files:
• Machining & Custom Macro programs ALL-FLDR.TXT
• NC parameter CNC-PARA.TXT
• Tool diameter offset parameter TOOLOFST.TXT
• Custom macro common variable MACRO.TXT
• Pitch error offset parameter PITCH.TXT
• Fanuc setup sheet data MAINTINF.TXT
• PC parameter PMC1_PRM.TXT
• Servo information SV_SP_ID.TXT

Note: Other backup files are created that we don’t use.

This file is not backed up with the All Data procedure on the turret punch press and must
be backed up separately.
• NC tool parameter TOOLDATA.TXT

NOTE: If the system reports that the CompactFlash or USB device must be
reformatted, it may not be recognizing those devices properly. Follow this
procedure to correct.
1) Using the mouse, right click on the screen.
2) Select “Data input/output”
3) Select “Browse”
4) Find and select the drive for the backup device (Typically E:)
5) Select “OK”

procedure to backup that data.

1. Select the FANUC OPEN CNC motor

icon from the lower right icon tray.
Double click or right click and select

doesn’t matter if you Cut or Copy the files

to the control. Also, a copy of the backup should be kept on a separate drive in case the
