Brief essay commenting on the views of different sectors on the promulgation of RA 1425, considering
the academic, social, religious, and political context of the Philippines during the 1950’s.
A. Academic My view on section land 2 of the Republic Act no. 1425 is that it is just right to take
this course as mandatory, knowing that this is part of us Filipinos. Through studying the works
of Rizal, Filipinos would have a sense of accomplishment and they would feel very proud of
their country and their heritage, which would lead to nationalism and unification of the
country. With this, I would like to state that I am for this particular law because of all the
benefits that it can give to the country. It is also important, I believe, for a country to not
forget the culture and heritage that they have through the years, but rather treasure the
history of the country to help make the country better for the next generation.
Section 2 of Republic Act No. 1425, in my opinion, makes sense to make this course
mandatory because it is a part of our culture. Filipinos will feel a sense of accomplishment and
pride in their country and heritage as a result of studying Rizal's works, which will lead to
nationalism and the country's unification. With this, I'd want to declare that I support this bill
because of the numerous advantages it can provide to the country. It is equally critical, in my
opinion, for a country to not forget its culture and heritage through time, but rather to value
its history in order to improve the country for future generations.
B. Social
My view on section 3 of the Republic Act nu. 1425 is that translating Dr. Jose Rizal’s works is a good
action as well as printing them in cheap, to be distributed for public and making this for free. This part
of the law has a good program, knowing that they prioritized the works to be printed in cheap by the
thought of releasing it for everyone. I just hope that everyone can buy this in small bookstores
nationwide and not just in popular bookstores only. Lastly, is they get the lessons of every work and
used this as their aspirations in life.
My view on section 3 of the Republic Act nu. 1425 isDr. Jose Rizal’s works is a good thing to do, as is
publishing them cheaply and distributing them to the public for free. This section of the legislation has
an excellent program, since they prioritized the works to be produced cheaply with the intention of
making them available to everyone. I simply hope that it will be available in little bookstores around
the country, not just in famous bookstores. Finally, they take the lessons from each work and apply
them to their ambitions in life.
C. Religious
My view on section 4 of the Republic Act no. 1425 is why it is being prohibited the discussion of
religious doctrines by someone who came from public sectors. I just don’t get it. But upon researching
why it is being prohibited, I somehow understand but I don’t think that it has a relation with the
school teachers this being discussed.
D. Political
My view on section 5 of the Republic Act no. 1425 is why would funding this law is such a big deal and
why does only the National Treasury can carry out this, again I just don’t get it. It seems like
implementing this law is such a burden by withdrawing discuss
1. Enumerate at least 5 memorable experiences of Rizal had during his journey. Explain
The following are Rizal’s 5 memorable experience during his journey in Spain:
First, is when he got the chance to go to Europe in the year 1882 via steamer named Salvadora. It is
memorable because we all know that during that time riding to a steamer is only for the privileged
person and knowing that this is the only way for him to go to Spain for him to execute his plan and to
finish his studies.
Second, is when he published his work entitled El Amor Patrio (Love of Country) in the year 1882. This
article was penned by Rizal on his first months when he was overseas in 1882. This one is memorable
because it is his first publication that was published in the prestigious Manila newspaper Diariong
Tagalog under the pseudonym Laong Laan and it signifies his love for the Philippines. This work
spelled out what he hoped and prayed for what would be the Philippines.
The second date is 1882, when he released his masterpiece El Amor Patrio (Love of Country). This article
was written by Rizal during his first months abroad in 1882. This one stands out since it was his first
publication, which was published under the alias Laong Laan in the prominent Manila journal Diariong
Tagalog, and it expresses his love for the Philippines. This art expressed his hopes and prayers for the
future Philippines.
The third memorable experience happened on March 21, 1887, this was the time when Rizal had the
chance to published his first novel, Noli Me Tangere, which published in Berlin. It is memorable
because this was the time that Rizal had suffered from poverty and he has no means to publish his
work but with the help of his friend Dr. Maximo Viola, wherehe offered to help Rizal for his novel to
published by financing the first 2,000 copies of the novel. Another reason is that this novel had made
a great impact on all the Filipinos up until now.
The third unforgettable event occurred on March 21, 1887, when Rizal was given the opportunity to
publish his first novel, Noli Me Tangere, in Berlin. It is notable since it was at this time that Rizal was
impoverished and unable to publish his work without the assistance of his friend Dr. Maximo Viola, who
offered to help Rizal publish his novel by financing the first 2,000 copies. Another reason is that this
work has left a lasting impression on all Filipinos.
Fourth is when Rizal got to become a master mason because as far as I know that being a freemason
means a lot to Rizal. To become a freemason is one of his dreams because being part of this fraternity
will help him to fight against the friars in the Philippines. Through the help of this brotherhood, he
was able to freely criticized the government policies in Spain and build a connection with a lot of
influential scholars in Spain.
Fourth, I believe Rizal became a master mason because, as far as I know, being a freemason is very
important to him. One of his ambitions is to join the Freemasons since he believes that being a member
of this organization will aid him in his struggle against the friars in the Philippines. With the support of
this brotherhood, he was able to openly criticize Spanish government policies and establish relationships
with a number of notable professors in the country.
Fifth is when Rizal finally got graduated and obtained his dream of becoming a doctor although he
doesn’t get his doctorate diploma. I think this is memorable for him because this was one of the
reasons why he got to go abroad and for him to be able to operate on his mother who had an eye
problem.
Fifth, Rizal ultimately graduated and realized his dream of becoming a doctor, despite the fact that he
did not receive his doctorate diploma. I believe he remembers this because it was one of the reasons he
was able to travel abroad and operate on his mother, who had an eye condition.
