Rigo Letter of Rec
It is with great pleasure that I write this letter on behalf of Mr. Sanchez. I have known Rigo for
nearly four years and have developed a relationship with him as one of my students and athletes. He is
without a doubt one of the hardest working, humble and respectable kids I have ever had the pleasure of
working with.
I first met Mr. Sanchez at El Capitan High School as a football player for the program. Rigo was regarded
as one of the better young athletes, and our varsity staff took notice of his work ethic. After the completion
of football I targeted Rigo as a heavyweight for our wrestling program. He rose to the challenge, having
never wrestled before and learning from scratch. I witnessed first hand the struggles both mentally and
physically that Rigo went through as a young wrestler. Fighting through weight loss, heat exhaustion and
trying to improve his technique all while wrestling in the most competitive heavyweight division in Central
California. Never once did he quit, give up or ask for the easy way out. He showed his commitment to the
program through blood sweat and tears. Very admirable trait for someone of his age.
Mr. Sanchez has shown great work ethic in his school studies. I would spend my lunch hour with him
helping learn material and answer questions he had about study guides. He was constantly using my
open office hours as a resource and I really respected that he was willing to sacrifice his free time at
school to better himself. Any challenge Rigo has taken on, he has done it with a blue collar work ethic and
has proven time and time again to be a very reliable young man. Whatever profession Rigo is applying
for, I know he will be very successful at. Upon Mr. Sanchez’s completion of his college degree, I will be
actively trying to recruit him as an educator and a coach for my athletic program in Idaho.
Sincerely,
Christopher Carnes
