I found a dealership that will give the 1099 A a shot. For those of you who have done this and succeeded, once I file the online
1099 A, and it's approved, I know I need to provide them with the 1099 OID, 1096, 1040v? And 8888 for them to fill out and
submit. Is there anything else I am missing, and would they send the complete package to the IRS? I really appreciate any help
you can provide.

Thank you all for your response this is helpful. Just to be clear no 8888 but 1199A? I am located in the Bay Area CA. I
am.going to be the test dummy per say. We want to see how long the process takes and he is willing to take a chance.

Just give it to the dealership, they will need to fill out a 1096, 1040V, and 1099OID, you don’t need to provide that for
them but can if you want. The 1199A & 8888 are both used for direct deposit but people are still seeing long wait times
with the 1199A so are now trying the 8888 which is also a much easier and faster form to fill out. So it would really be
up to the dealership, I would suggest the 8888. The 1096 has an address were things are to be submitted to the IRS, so I
think it all goes to that address.

Mine got approved as well. What I learned is that your dealer need to file the approved 1099a, 1099OID, 1096 and
1040 V together. I don't know other forms like 8888, etc., but this is the complete package to the IRS.

This is great news would you be able to ask them a question? Would they be willing to do this for someone in the UK
and import the car? All costs paid with the 1099A...

Chris Taylor I don't know the relationship between USA and UK when it comes to filing. 1099a in the USA
is for USA citizen with birth certificate and social security number.

Seth Brogdon   im not sure it matters as the Us is run by the UK or some corporation within the
UK we would essentially be borrowing from the same treasury.. its all one big entity really isnt it?

Chris Taylor yes and no, they fracture this up and use different words in different places. For
example the US has Social Security Numbers and Canada has Social Insurance Numbers. Different
laws, different paperwork, different places to submit that pap…

Seth Brogdon I got an EIN number from them last year for the purposes of creating a private trust
so i wonder if that number has gotten linked up to a trust since and acquired funds... be a shame if i
couldn't file a 1099a from over here

Chris Taylor you’ll have to check it out. If 1099a doesn’t work for y’all across the pond then there
is another way the UK does it, I’m sure there are UK specific groups out there that are sharing the
“secrets”

I don’t know why you would use 8888.

Manny Castillo doesn’t make sense. 1199A is direct deposit in 14 days. 1040V is 30-45 days with
paper check.
