Thank you, Mr/Ms ______________ ask you and you will give liberally without

Increase our capacity, Lord, as we learn.

Give us understanding, Oh God that we will

our growth and development.

mastery as they seek to open up our

Thank you, Ms / Mr _________________

Yes ma’am.
Have you ever heard a story from your parents or
grandparents?

Ma’am. Some of the stories are fictional,

Okay, if that so, what can you say about those stories
some are real and they are long.
you’ve heard? How did that person deliver the
stories?

Excellent! Thank you, Mr. _______

Ma’am. Every time our parents tell us a

story it all start with one topic and later on
they are giving more details.

Brilliant, Ms. _______________

It is same with writing a narrative Paragraph

Ma’am. Narration.
When we are talking about Narrative what comes in
your mind?

You got it right Ms. _________ Narrative is a

spoken or written account of connected events or a
story. Narrating something that happened.
Yes Ma’am.
Is that clear class?

Okay now let’s look what is a Narrative Paragraph.

Who wants to read?

Ma’am. A Narrative Paragraph tells a story,

Narrative Paragraph - tells a story, either real or either real or fictional, by introducing a
fictional, by introducing a topic, giving more details, topic, giving more details, and then ending
and then ending with a reflection or transition to with a reflection or transition to another
another paragraph. paragraph.

Thank you, Ms. _______________.

So, This type of paragraph explains something that

happened. Think about a time that a friend or family
member came to you and said, “guess what!” They
probably then told you a story about something that
happened to them.
Yes ma’am.

Have you experienced that?

There will always be this kind of person who loves

to share a lot of things with you saying, Yes ma’am.
“Hey friend, you know what--!” and etc. and you will
listen to their stories. Am I right?

Now let’s move on….

So how can we write a Narrative Paragraph? Who Ma’am. I believe that writing a Narrative
has an idea? Paragraph should be written like how we
write a story.
Clever, Mr. __________

Here are the ways how can we write a Narrative

Paragraph.
How to Write a Narrative Paragraph
1. Create an Engaging topic Sentence – draw
the reader into your narrative paragraph by
creating excitement or suspense with your
opening sentence.
2. Set the scene of the story – provide a
setting for your story and orient your reader
showing the time when your story happens.
3. Present the story chronologically from its
beginning – start the story by describing the
problem or idea that kicks off the action.
4. Relate the central conflict of the story –
add narrative details to explain what may
happen next in the story.
5. Provide resolution to the story – present
details to the reader as to how the story ends.
In a good story, often this ending will be a
surprise twits or simply a happy moment.

So the first one is Create an Engaging topic

Sentence.
A good narrative should starts with a strong topic
sentence that draws the reader in and introduces the
story you're going to tell.

For example, you might start your paragraph with

"Learning how to ride a bike for the first time was a
nerve racking independent moment."

As a reader you will be intrigued, “What is the nerve

racking independent moment in riding a bicycle for
the first time”.
Yes ma’am.
Am I correct? Do we have same thoughts?

Once you hook your reader, introduce any major

characters involved in the story.
Ma’am. (student read the sentence)
Who wants to read?

“I was about five years old when my sister informed

me that I was too old to still be riding a bike with
training wheels ”

Thank you, Ms. _____________

After that you may provide a setting for your story

and orient your reader showing the time when your
story happens so it’s called, Set the scene of the
story. Ma’am. (student read the sentence)

Who’s willing to read?

“That was the time I decided not to depend on them

anymore. Even though I had some doubt, my sister
and I went outside and started to take the little
wheels off my bike”.

Thank you, Mr. _____________. Ma’am, it is outside of their house.

So where is the setting of the story?

Awesome!

Also You have to Present the story chronologically

from its beginning. So we have already presented
the topic sentence and the scene of the story
chronologically. So, everyone let’s read it loud and
(students read the sentences)
clear.

"Learning how to ride a bike for the first time was a

nerve racking independent moment."
“I was about five years old when my sister informed
me that I was too old to still be riding a bike with
training wheels ”
“That was the time I decided not to depend on them
anymore. Even though I had some doubt, my sister
and I went outside and started to take the little
wheels off my bike”.

Next, you need to Relate the central conflict of the

story by adding narrative details to explain what
independently or having no training wheels.
may happen next in the story.

Before we proceed, What do you think is the conflict

in the story?

Impressive, Mr. ______________.

Let’s proceed.

“After my bike went through the transformation, I

was now ready for the big moment. With butterflies
in my stomach, I slowly got on the bike, and with my
shaky hands, I gripped the handles tightly.
Meanwhile my sister was holding on to me to help
keep my balance. I was so afraid the she would let
go, yet I was determined to ride this bike on my own.
Next with a little push from her, I started to peddle.
The faster my bike went the faster my heart raced.
Finally I looked back nervously and noticed that my
sister let go of my bike a long time ago. I was so
excited that I accomplished freedom on my bike that
I forgot to peddle. ”

After you add narrative details, you may now present

details to the reader as to how the story ends.
Provide resolution to the Story.

“The next step I remember, I was lying on the

ground, yet I did not care because of the adrenaline
rush. I will never forget the exhilarating moment and Yes ma’am.
growing up stage of riding a bike without training Yes ma’am.
wheels.” Yes ma’am.

So you have now a narrative paragraph.

Did you get it class?

Do you find it like a story telling?
Is it simple to do?

You are all good then. And If you say so

 APPLICATION
Let’s proceed with your activity.

Direction: In a 1 whole sheet of paper, Choose your

own topic and write a Narrative Paragraph
composing 150 words.

Yes ma’am.
Is the direction clear?
 GENERALIZATION
Can I ask two students to come in front and tell us Yes ma’am.
about you in Narrative way? Yes ma’am

Job well done Everyone!

 EVALUATION

Take Home Activity

Direction: Politely, Ask your parents or

grandparents to tell you a story about themselves
when they are little ones. After that make a narrative
paragraph on what your parents or grandparents told
you about. Write it in a bond paper.
