THE GRAND MASTER. The compasses extended over an arc of 45°, with the segment
of a circle at the points and a gold plate included, on which is to be represented an eye
within a triangle, both irradiated.
THE PRO GRAND MASTER. The same.
PAST GRAND MASTERS, AND PAST PRO GRAND MASTERS.
A similar jewel, without the gold plate.

name of the Metropolitan Area, Province or District, without any ornament, engraved
thereon.

PRO METROPOLITAN, PROVINCIAL OR DISTRICT GRAND MASTER).
The compasses and square only, on a blue enamelled oval medal with the name of the
Metropolitan Area, Province or District, without any ornament, engraved thereon.

proposition of the 1st Book of Euclid, pendant within it, on a blue enamelled oval
medal, and over it the name of the Metropolitan Area.
OVERSEAS GRAND RANK. The same, but with the word ‘Overseas’ above it.
METROPOLITAN OR OVERSEAS RANK. The same, as the case may be, but without
any emblem on the oval medal.

chains of Grand Officers are of the same pattern, the number of the stars
designating the rank: thus the Grand Master and Pro Grand Master have
eleven stars, the Deputy Grand Master and Assistant Grand Masters 9,
Provincial and District Grand Masters and Grand Wardens 7, the Grand
Chaplain, President of the Board of General Purposes, Grand Registrar,
Grand Secretary, President of the Grand Charity, President of the Masonic
Trust for Girls and Boys, President of the Royal Masonic Benevolent
Institution, President of the Masonic Samaritan Fund, Grand Director of
Ceremonies, Grand Sword Bearer, Grand Superintendent of Works and
Grand Inspectors 5, and all other Grand Officers 3.

The chain of a Deputy Metropolitan or District Grand Master is similar, but with the
letters ‘D.M.G.M.’ or ‘D.D.G.M.’ in place of ‘D.P.G.M.’.

The chain of an Assistant Metropolitan or District Grand Master is similar, but with the
