ORIHINAL:
Translation is a process by which a spoken or written utterance takes place in one language which is
intended and presumed to convey the same meaning as a previously existing utterence in another
language (Robin, l958) .
PAGSASALIN:
Ang pagsasalin ay isang proseso kung saan ang isang pasalita o nakasulat ay nagaganap sa isang wika na
nilalayon at ipinapalagay na maghatid ng parehong kahulugan tulad ng dati nang umiiral na kahulugan sa
ibang wika (Robin, l958).

ORIHINAL:
Translation consists in producing in the receptor language the closest natural equivalent of the message
of the source language, first in meaning and secondly in style (Nida, 1959/l966).

Translation may be defined as the replacement of textual material in one language (source language) by
equivalent textual material in another language (target language) (J.C. Catford I965).

Ang pagsasalin ay maaaring tukuyin bilang pagpapalit ng textual na materyal sa isang wika (orihinal na
wika) sa pamamagitan ng katumbas na materyal na teksto sa ibang wika (Pagsasalinan na wika).

ORIHINAL:
Translation is reproducing in the receptor language a text which communicates the same message as the
source language but using the natural grammatical and lexicalchoices of the receptor language (Larson,
l984).
PAGSASALIN:
Ang pagsasalin ay paggaya ng ideya ng napiling wika na kung saan parehong mensahe ang nais ipahatid
ng orihinal na wika gamit ang tamang instrukturang gramatikal ng patutunguhang lengguwahe (Larson,
l984).

Translation is made possible by an equivalence of thought that lies behind its different verbal
expressions (Savory, l968).
