    Personally appeared before me, who first being duly sworn, complains and alleges:

    COUNT: 1

    On or about April 22, 2022, in the above named judicial district, the crime of ATFEMPTED
    EXTORTION, in violation of Penal Code Section 524, a Felony, was committed by Nelson Orlando
    Esparza, who did unlawfully by means of a threat such as is Specified in Section 519, attempt to extort
    prOperty or other consideration from Doug Taft Sloan .

    COUNT: 2

    On or about April 22, 2022, in the above named judicial district, the crime of ATTEMPTED
    VIOLATION OF THE FRESNO CITY CHARTER, in violation of Penal Code Section 664fThe Charter
    of the City of Fresno Section 803, a Misdemeanor, was committed by Nelson Orlando Esparza, who
    did, pursuant to Fresno City Charter Section 1502. willfully and unlawfully attempt to restrict the use
    of the services of the City Attorney from all members of the Fresno City Council.

    All of which is contrary to the form, force, and effect of the Statute in such case made and provided,
    and against the peace and dignity of the people of the State of California.

    Pursuant to Penal Code Sections 1054.5(b), the People are hereby informally requesting that defense
    counsel provide discovery to the People as required by Penal Code Section 1054.3.
