DLL For CO1 Final - Arlyn

This document provides a daily lesson plan for a math class on inverse variation. The lesson objectives are to illustrate situations involving inverse variation, translate relationships between quantities into variation statements, and solve problems involving inverse variation. The lesson plan outlines preliminary activities, a review of the previous lesson, establishing the purpose of the new lesson through picture analysis and video examples, and discussing new concepts through solving word problems and graphing. The lesson integrates concepts from other subjects such as science, technical-livelihood education, and economics.

Strategy : “Picture Analysis”
Subject Integration: Science (Air Pollution)
Air pollution – is the presence of substances in the atmosphere that are harmful to
the health of humans and other living beings.
How do trees clean the air?
Trees absorb these toxic chemicals through their stomata, or “pores”,
effectively filtering these chemicals from the air. Trees also mitigate the greenhouse
gas effect by trapping heat, reduce ground-level ozone levels and release life-giving
oxygen.

#1

Instructions: Solve the following problem. Construct a table of values, write a

mathematical equation and then graph
- A Grade 9 – Ruby parent is riding on his motorcycle in going to school to get
the module of his son. If the speed (r) is inversely proportional to the time (t)
travelled and he is traveling at 30 kph. If his speed (r) decreases to 15 kph,
how much time (t) it will take him to cover the same distance? What is his
speed if he plan to travel within 15 mins?

Strategy : “Problem Solving and Boardwork”

Subject Integration: Science (Speed)
Speed – is the rate at which an object covers distance. It has the dimensions of
distance divided by time. The SI unit of speed is the metre per second, but
the most common unit of speed in everyday usage is the kilometre per hour
in the US and in the UK, miles per hour.
Subject Integration: TLE (Driving)
Good Character Traits in Driving:
- skilled - knowledge - self-discipline
- patience - alertness - responsible

F. Discussing new concepts Group Activity: Differentiated Tasks (HOTS)
and practicing new skills # 2 “Let’s Do the Inverse!”
- Group the students into two groups.
- Distribute the materials.
- Let the students work for 5mins.
- Presentation of outputs for evaluation or assessment after each item. (Rubrics will
be used in rating student’s output).

- One representative will rate the other group for the presentation and content, the
teacher will rate for the accuracy.

Solve the following problems:

Problem 1: If g varies inversely as the square root of h, and g = 9 when h = 121,
find g when h = 81.

Problem 2: If r is inversely proportional to the cube of s, and r = 17 when s = 3,

find r when s = 2.

H. Finding practical application “Think, Pair and Share!”
of concepts and skills in - Let the students find their pairs.
daily living - Distribute the materials.
- Let the students work for 8mins.
- Presentation of outputs for evaluation or assessment after each item. (Rubrics will
be used in rating student’s output).
Instructions:
- Think of a certain problem encountered in our barangay (e.g. livelihood,
disasters, health and diseases, transportation, environment, etc.) that describes
inverse variation. Construct a table of values; write a mathematical equation;
and then graph (Use your tablet)

Example:
The number of victims (N) positive with COVID-19 in Barangay Napolan
varies inversely with the net income (I) of the barangay. If P79, 800 is the net income
of Barangay Napolan with 7 COVID-19 victims, how much is the net income of the
barangay when COVID-19 victims reached to 23?

- One representative will rate the other group for the explanation, neatness &
organization, and diagram & sketches, the teacher will rate for the mathematical
errors and completion.

Strategy : “Think, Pair and Share!”
