OPINION OF THE PSYCHOLOGY CAREER

The psychology career is very interesting because it deals with the study of human behaviour,
obviously it has more branches of study, also mental health, which is very important in society, since
a patient goes to the psychologist to listen and interpret their problems in terms of their relationships,
and their vision of society that afflicts them, therefore, as they will embrace such issues, it is
necessary that we work on our empathy. The fact of being able to study the functioning of the human
mind is something very complex, since each human being is a world full of experiences that are
acquired throughout his life.It is also interesting because it gives you the opportunity to develop in
various fields such as clinical, sports, education and many more.

We found the history of psychology very interesting. This discipline owes its scientific character
to the foundation of the first experimental psychology laboratory at the University of Leipzig in
Germany. In this university they attempt to measure the "atoms of the mind". On the other hand, we
found psychology’s branches very complex, since we can divide psychology into two main areas:
basic psychology, which researches and produces new psychological knowledge; and applied
psychology, which applies previous knowledge. Likewise, applied psychology branches into 4 main
specialties:
- Clinical psychology
- Educational psychology
- Organisational psychology
- Social psychology
