Read the text about holidays, crime and money.

Watch out on holiday!

Holidays are a time to relax, but if you go to busy tourist areas (25) ………… sure you look after
your personal property. That’s what my parents always told me and maybe I (26) ………… their
advice when I went away with my friends last year.
Here’s what happened. I was walking along a busy street when a middle-aged couple stopped me
and asked for directions. If I was a more experienced traveller, maybe I would (27) ………… them
but instead I stopped and showed them my map. After they’d gone, I realised they’d taken my
purse!
I immediately went to the police, but I couldn’t even tell them what the thieves looked like. If I
