CHAPTER-1
INTRODUCTION
I. Online tourism plays a vital and growing role in the travel sector. In fact,
online content is now a primary source of travel information, exceeding
all other forms of traditional media and marketing. Travel businesses
connect with consumers through online marketing, social media, travel apps,
search functionality, and booking platforms.
II. These diverse information sources and sales channels increasingly drive
the tourism sector. However, even though tourism demand is increasingly
shifting to an online environment, and culture is an important motivating
factor, a relatively low proportion.

VI. Tourists starts searching online information about the best tourist location
and hotels before planning their actual traveling schedules and most
importantly they can easily meet their requirements and their budget. The
internet has remained a predominant form of information collection for
leisure planning. The information communication technology devices like
laptops, tablets, iPads and smartphones has fuel the use of internet in
tourism planning, promotion and expanding it all across the globe.
VIII. Tourist’s satisfaction with the tourist destination online content such as
the quality of online information on tourism deals and its accessibility on
internet may help to show the positive emotions and brand loyalty. Tourism

IX. All these marketing strategies are aimed to expand and promoting a
destinations online tourism and hospitality business. A destination
tourism promotion via technology corridors and devices like mobile,
tablets, computers etc. has been also analysed, some of the intentions
remain under explored. Tourism is considered as a product that cannot be
consumed before its experience.
X. Considering qualities of the tourism and the fact that internet has highly
influenced the consumers information search and purchase behaviour,
there is no need to explore that how tourists perceive to this, consumers
online behaviours are helpful for predicting and buying from virtual
markets, focusing on gathering the information of the user’s history.

LITERATURE REVIEW
I. Telluride.com: Right from the start, a prominent image gallery does a lot
of the selling on the website for Telluride. By making the images so
large, the site makes sure the first thing you see is a beautiful landscape.
This is an example of a site that relies less on copy. Instead of a detail-
heavy approach, the design focuses more on the picturesque views and
various activities inaction.
Once a visitor is drawn in by the photos, they can opt to click on the main
call to action, “Plan Your Spring Trip” for more information. From there,
visitors can read about the various activities they can do in the city, then
purchase any necessary tickets, passes, or equipment rentals. This approach
works, because it combines attention-grabbing imagery with a clear call
to action. Many Internet users have short attention spans, so it’s important
to give them the opportunity to take action as soon as possible.
II. Visitbrazil.com: On the surface, you might think that arranging this site
would be a simple process. After all, how difficult could it be to persuade
visitors to check out beautiful beaches and hikes through the Amazon?
But considering that Brazil is a huge country, making up almost half of
the continent of South America, the site has a lot of information to cover.
It does this by dividing the various regions into different “Experiences.”
III. Wheelingcvb.com: This is the official tourism site for the city of
Wheeling, West Virginia. The site features a series of high-quality images
on its homepage that highlight the various activities available to visitors
within the city. From there, the page is divided into sections that cover

hotels, restaurants, recreation, and other activities. If this doesn’t sound like
a novel approach, that’s because it isn’t. But the site makes it easy for
visitors to see why they should visit the city, as well as access all of the
information they need to plan their trip.
i. The tourism industry faces a great challenge in the age of the information
technology development. The traditional tourism distribution channel
faces a threat of the emerging IT environment.
ii. Prior to the invention of the internet, the only option for travellers was to
sought out travel agents or book bus seating, car rental and hotel
accommodation through the operator.
iv. The second biggest problem is that there is a risk of not getting the
transportation which was promised or it not being available at all. This
can cause a huge problem.
v. The third problem can be if a passenger decides to buy travel tickets and
arrange for the needed transportations at the spot every time they travel
and buses may not be available so it will be a total wastage of time.

RESULT ANALYSIS AND VALIDATION
Along with this we have used some others of software tools like XAMPP. We
have also used my PHP admin (local host) which will store the data in a proper
format. Programming Language is also used for the linking purpose of our HTML
file to the backend.
1. HTML
HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language. It is the standard
markup language for creating Webpages. It describes the structure of a
Webpage. It consists of a series of elements. HTML constructs images
and other objects such as forms and are delineated by tags which means
written using angle brackets. Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) is the
standard markup language for documents designed to be displayed in a
web browser. It can be assisted by technologies such as Cascading Style
Sheets (CSS) and scripting languages such as JavaScript.
2. CSS

It stands for Cascading Style Sheets. CSS describes how HTML elements
are to be displayed on screen, paper, or in other media. CSS saves a lot of
work. It can control the layout of multiple webpages all at once. External
Style Sheets are stored in CSS files. Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)is
designed to enable the separation of the presentation and the content,
including layout, colours and fonts.
3. JAVASCRIPT
JavaScript is a text-based programming language used both on the client-
side and server-side that allows you to make webpages interactive. Where
HTML and CSS are languages that gives structure and style to webpages,
JavaScript gives webpages interactive elements that engage a user.
4. PHP
PHP is a general purpose scripting language especially suited to web
development. It was originally created by Danish- Canadian programmer
“Rasmus Lerdorf” in 1994. PHP originally stood for the Personal Home
Page but now it stands for the recursive initialism.
5. MYSQL
SQL is a standard language for accessing and manipulating databases. SQL
stands for Structured Query Language. SQL lets you access and manipulate
databases. SQL became a standard of the American National Standards
Institute (ANSI) in 1986, and of the International Organization for
Standardization (ISO) in 1987 SQL can execute queries against a database,
retrieve data, insert records in a database, update records, delete records,
create new databases, create new tables in a database, create stored
procedures in a database, create views in a database, set permissions on
tables, procedures, and views.

6. XAMPP
XAMPP is a free and open- source cross platform webserver solution stack
package developed by Apache Friends, consisting mainly of the Apache
HTTP Server, MariaDB database and interpreters for the scripts written
in the PHP and Perl Programming languages.

CONCLUSION AND FUTURE SCOPE
5.1 Scope:
Tourism is currently recognized as a global industry which is growing at a high
rate like any other industry. Access to relevant and accurate information is at the
heart of tourism. Here, the proposed project on Tourism Management System
tries to bridge the gap by noting what a tourist perceives as relevant. Hence, the
aim of this project entails the design and implementation of a platform that will
assist tourists in gaining access to travel to various tourist locations.
The project also helped to provide knowledge about the latest technology used
in developing web enabled application and client server technology that will be
great demand in future. It is worth mentioning that this project work is open for
further enhancement, with the expectation that it becomes more robust and
better enhanced; covering every single tourist sites. For a modified system, the
user need to just login into the application and can find the routes, costs, hotels,
adventure sports, transportations and book immediately and complete the
booking process for a successful transaction. In the aspect of tourism, Internet
and web technologies have made more readily available information on tourist
locations, accommodations, transportation, shopping, food, festivals, and other
attractions, thus improving the whole tourism experience.
