The Bear and the Two Friends

Once, two friends were walking through the forest. They knew that anything dangerous can
happen to them at any time in the forest. So they promised each other that they would remain
united in case of danger.

Suddenly, they saw a large bear approaching tern. One of the friends at once climbed a
nearby tree. But the other one did not know how to climb. So being led by his common sense,
he lay down on the ground breathless, pretending to be a dead man.
The bear came near the man lying on the ground. It smelt his ears and slowly left the place.
Because the bear did not touch him, the friend on the tree came down and asked his friend on
the ground, "Friend, what did the bear tell you into your ears?"The other friend replied, "He
advised me not to believe a false friend.

Once, a cap seller was passing through a jungle. He was dead tired and needed to rest.
Then, he stopped spread a cloth under a tree. He placed his bag of caps near him and lay
down with his cap on his head.

The cap seller had a sound sleep for one hour. When he got up, the first thing he did was to
look into his bag. He was startled when he found all his caps were not there. He was
wondering where they could have gone. Indeed, he was greatly puzzled.

When he looked up sky, he was very surprised to see monkeys sitting on the branches of a
tree, each wearing a cap on his head. They had evidently done it to imitate him.

He decided to get his caps back by making a humble request to the monkeys. In return, the
monkeys only made faces of him. When he began to make gestures, even when he raised his
fist towards them to threaten them, they also imitated him.

At last he hit upon a clever idea. “Monkeys are a great imitator,” he thought. So he took off
his own cap and threw it down on the ground. As he had expected, all the monkeys took off
the caps threw them down on the ground. Quickly he stood up and collected the caps, put
them back into his bag and went away.

The step sisters went to the ball that night with their mother. Cinderella was left alone.
She cried because she actually wanted to go to the ball, too.
Just then a fairy godmother came. With her magic wand, she gave Cinderella a coach
(kereta), two horses and footmen. She also gave Cinderella a lovely dress to wear the ball and
a pair of glass slippers. She told Cinderella to come home before midnight.
At the ball, Cinderella danced all night with the Prince. The Prince fell in love with
her. At midnight, Cinderella ran home. Unfortunately, one of her slippers slipped off at the
door. She did not have time to put it back on. The Prince was sad as he could not find
Cinderella again that night.
The next day, the Prince and his men brought along the glass slipper. They went all over the
Kingdom to search for the owner.
After searching for a long time, finally, they came to Cinderella’s house. The slipper
fit her. The prince was very happy to find Cinderella again. They got married and lived ever
after.

The Lion and the Mouse

Once when a lion was asleep, a little mouse began running up and down upon him;
this soon awoke the lion, who placed his huge paw upon him, and open his big jaws to

The lion was so tickled at the idea of the mouse being able to help him. Then, he lifted

mouse happened to pass by and see the sad plight in which the lion was. The little mouse
went up to him and soon gnawed away the ropes that bounded the king of the beasts. Soon
after the little mouse had finished gnawing away the ropes, he asked the lion to run away.

A Trip to the Zoo

Yesterday my family and I went to the zoo to see the elephant. When we got to the
zoo, we went to the shop to buy some food to give to the animals.
After getting the food, we went to the nocturnal house where we saw birds and
reptiles which only come out at night.
Before having lunch, we went for a ride on the elephant. It was a thrill to ride it. Dad
fell off when he let go off the rope, but he was ok.
During the lunch we fed some birds in the park. In the afternoon we saw the animals
being fed. When we returned home we were very tired but happy. It was because we
had so much fun activities at many places at the zoo.
