1. Ticket Dispenser
This document will be the best guide for the Moviik dispenser you acquired.
Learn how to maintain and configure your newly acquired equipment properly.
1.2. Maintenance
To swap the thermal paper roll on your ticket dispenser, open the back cover (Fig. 3), locate the printer
mechanism (Fig. 8), lift the printer guard tab up (Fig. 9Fig. 3) and install the new thermal paper roll
appropriately.
This process can be done while the ticket dispenser is online (on and usable) as well as off.
While the ticket dispenser is on, the printer will pull excess paper and trim accordingly.
To remove or swap the SDCard for the Tiik 15”, open the back cover (Fig. 2), locate the back cover screw (Fig.
4), lift, and remove the back cover, locate the RaspberryPi unit (Fig. 5) and lift the RaspberryPi plastic cover,
the SDCard slot is located on top of the RaspberryPi board, you will need to gently remove or insert a microSD
card.in this slot (Fig. 6). If needed user a pair of plastic tweezers to help you in the process.
To update the operative system for the Tiik 15”, or in the case a microSD card goes bad, you will need to flash
a Tiik 15” image to a microSD card.
You should have an SDCard reader at hand and you should also have a microSD to SDcard adapter (usually
included with the purchase of an SDCard).
First, you will need to request Moviik support a download link for the latest Tiik 15” system image, after you
secure this download, you will need to flash this image to the SDCard using a flashing software (we
recommend and only support Balena Etcher for this purpose).
Once the flashing is done, follow the instructions in section 1.2.2. and install the newly flashed SDCard.
Once Tiik 15” boots, you will be prompted to configure various details for your system.
Once you unbox a new Tiik 15”, or in the case you need to re-configure your unit, you will need to provide details
to interact with Moviik’s system.
Upon first boot you will be greeted with a screen asking for networking options. For most cases, DHCP will
suffice, but in case you need to, you have the chance to configure your network and setup fixed IP addresses
for Tiik 15”.
After all networking configurations take place, you will be asked to input the URL for your Moviik system. Input
the address in the text box and hit save. The system will reboot to save changes and apply them system-wide.
After rebooting you are greeted with a textbox asking for a connection key. In your backoffice, navigate to the
appropriate branch, select the devices tab, look for ticket dispensers, locate the one you want to configure and
take note of the connection key, input the connection key in the Tiik 15” interface and hit connect.
