Philippine Airlines, also known as PAL, is the Filipino flag carrier. The company started their operations in
February 1941, which makes PAL the oldest and longest-serving airline in south-east Asia. Philippine Airlines is
today a private company owned by PAL Holdings, one of the largest Filipino conglomerates. On February 26,
1941, Philippine Air Lines, Inc., was formally incorporated by a group of businessmen headed by Andrés
Soriano Sr. At that time, he was hailed as one of the Philippines' leading industrialists and served as the airline's
general manager. Soriano and former senator Ramón J. Fernández acquired the franchise of Philippine Aerial
Taxi Company, Inc. and renamed Philippine Air Lines (PAL). The airline's first flight took place on March 15,
1941, with a single Beechcraft Model 18 NPC-54 on daily services between Manila (from Nielson Field) and
Baguio. It carried two pilots and five passengers on its maiden flight. The five passengers were the founders of
the airline Soriano, Fernández, Juan Miguel Elizalde, John R. Schultz and Ernesto Von Kaufmann. Government
investment in September 1941 paved the way for its nationalization. On October 23, 1941, John R. Schultz was
elected by the board of directors as treasurer of Philippine Air Lines. As of March 2019, PAL operates to/from
41 domestic airports and 58 international destinations. Starting 2013, PAL embarked on expanding its route
network, involving both adding new and restoring previously terminated routes. In 2013, the airline announced
its return to Abu Dhabi, Dammam and Riyadh, and launched new routes to Brisbane and Perth, as well as
Doha, Dubai and Jeddah. In 2013, PAL was removed from the EU aviation blacklist after three years of
negotiations, and the carrier immediately announced its European plans. PAL subsequently launched flights
between Manila and Heathrow to commence in November 2013, It's first European destination in 15 years. As
of today (March 2018), PAL operates the following international routes: Auckland, Abu Dhabi, Bandar Seri
Begawan, Bangkok, Beijing, Brisbane, Busan, Cairns, Chengdu, Chongqing, Dammam, Darwin, Denpasar, Dubai,
Fukuoka, Guam, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Ho Chi Minh City, Hong Kong, Honolulu, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Kuwait

II. The aircraft diverted to Tokyo's Haneda Airport for a safe landing on runway 34R.
III. The plane continued its takeoff, climbed out, and flew away. The runway was closed for an
inspection, which revealed tyre debris and other debris on the runway. The crew was informed by
ATC. The runway was shut down for roughly 15 minutes as the debris was removed, and in October
11, 2018, the occurrence aircraft did a positioning flight from Manila to Angeles (Philippines) after
being on the ground in Manila for 17 days.
