might occur in your Toshiba 6900 Kiosk Systems Models 1K0.
This service and installation guide also provides instructions for replacing failing
components.

Chapter 4. First Installation Procedures
This section serves as a guide for customers and/or business partners to install the machine out of the box.
Caution: The weight of this part or unit is between 18 and 32 kg (39.7 and 70.5 lb). It takes two persons to
safely lift this part or unit. (C009).
Note: The separate head and base units may each be safely lifted by a single person. Once head and base are
assembled, two people are required to safely lift the unit.
During shipping, the machine will have this shipping screw. It is used to hold the front door in place
during shipping. Remove the back cover and shipping screw in order to open the front door.

Mounting of the Toshiba 6900 Pro-X Hybrid Kiosk Model 1K0
The kiosk is to be permanently mounted to the counter top for stability.
Professional Service personnel will be required to carry out the installation of the kiosk mounting
1) Position the kiosk on the countertop and mark out the base plate on the counter top.
2) Locate the center of the pivot hole.
3) Cut out the cable access hole opening and screw holes based on Figure 10
4) Use a M4 steel screw (with spring washer) to secure the kiosk to the counter top.
5) The minimum length of the screw to be used to be thickness of counter top plus ten millimeter
(refer to figure 11).
6) Tighten the screw from the bottom of the countertop to the kiosk.
7) All four mounting points must be secure.

Create multi-FW download XML package
In the case of the need to update multiple firmware, we can create an XML file which contain all the
firmware file.
Print the download messages option is a feature where printer will print a warning message
that FW update is in progress and print the download result. However, this feature still need
improvement as of V2.2.3.0.
c) The XML file can be imported back using the GUI utility or downloaded to the printer using the utility
CLI feature.
We can only define firmware download XML file for one device.
It is not recommended to create a firmware download XML with firmware list contain
multiple devices.
Example: when creating a firmware download XML for printer, do not include any firmware
for Signal Light.

Updating Signal Light firmware when the IPL Firmware is V01.00
Special attention is needed when then signal light IPL is still V01.00. This is an older version, and it is not
compatible with the KOP3x configuration utility.
When using KOP3x configuration utility, and the Signal light firmware information shown like below. We
should not try to update using the utility. Most of the time it will failed and even if it was able to
download it will take unexpectedly long time (more than 10 minutes).
We might need to refreshed (“Menu” button -> “Refresh”) to retrieve the firmware version.
To update Signal Light IPL, please use the attached test tool.
For future reference when there is a newer IPL firmware than V01.01 but the signal firmware is
still V01.00.
For general user:
1. Update signal light from V01.00 to V01.01 using steps described in section 2.5.1
2. Using KOP3x configuration utility to update the ipl from V01.01 to the new version
(V01.xx)

Creating XML
Firmware
a) From Firmware Download section, adding the necessary firmware files.
Print the download messages option is a feature where printer will print a warning
message that FW update is in progress and print the download result. However, this
feature still need improvement as of V2.2.3.0.
c) The XML file can be imported back using the GUI utility or downloaded to the printer using the
utility CLI feature.
We can only define firmware download XML file for one device.
It is not recommended to create a firmware download XML with firmware list contain
multiple devices.
Example: when creating a firmware download XML for printer, do not include any
firmware for Signal Light.

a) Add the logo to the list by drag and drop or browse the image.
b) Click on “Menu” and select “Export as XML File”
The logos that will be exported to XML file is only logos that is not downloaded to the printer.

a) User can change the printer setting using application GUI.
b) Once the necessary setting is changed, press the “Menu” button, and select “Export to XML File”
c) In the “Select save file” dialog, select the location and type in the file name then press “save”

Combining XML

IMPORTANT NOTE:
a. Combining more than one printer setting XML files is allowed. However, only
the first printer setting XML file will be included.
b. When combining more than one firmware download XML files, if there is the
same firmware file name, only one will be included.
c. When combining more than one logo download XML file and key code 1 and 2
combination is defined in multiple files, only the image file from the first XML
file will be used.
d. The combined XML file section information will always be ordered in the
following sequence. Firmware Download -> Printer Settings -> Logo Download.
