The document outlines John Deere's standard color designations and names used for various applications. It also describes primary and secondary color standards and lists discontinued colors.

Six new colors were added to the primary color standards: F9GP Platinum Gray, F9GR Pewter Gray, F9GS Smoke Gray, F9KU Light Stone, F9KV Medium Stone, and F9KW Dark Stone.

1 Scope

1.1 JDM F9 presents designations and names of John Deere standard colors used for paints,
pressure sensitive labels, plastics, packaging, and other applications. JDM F9 also identifies the physical
form and intended scope of application for various primary color standards (color chips).

1.2 This standard can contain mandatory provisions, which are identified by the words “shall” or
“required”. Compliance with the mandatory provisions is required to claim conformance with this standard.
This standard can also contain guideline provisions, which are generally identified by the words “should”
or “recommended”. Compliance with the guideline provisions is not required, because they might not be
appropriate for all machines or all applications.

2 Designations and Color Names

Table 1 lists JDM F9 designations and names for current John Deere standard colors.

3 Primary Color Standards

3.1 A primary color standard is used for visual color matching under natural or artificial "daylight"
conditions. The John Deere Moline Technology Innovation Center is responsible for maintaining primary
color standards for JDM F9 color designations. This responsibility includes controlling the visual color
match of primary standards and distributing primary standards to those persons and organizations that
require them.

3.2 Table 1 shows the physical form of current JDM F9 primary color standards and the intended
scope of application for each primary color standard.

3.3 To obtain the primary color standard for any JDM F9 standard color, contact the John Deere Moline
Technology Innovation Center, One John Deere Place, Moline, Illinois 61265-8098, U.S.A.

4 Secondary Color Standards

4.1 Secondary color standards may also exist for some of these JDM F9 color designations. A
secondary color standard is used for instrumental color matching, for paint formulation control, and for
color matching of some specific materials. Secondary color standards match the primary color standard
under "daylight" conditions. A secondary color standard may therefore be used for visual color matching
under "daylight" conditions, although primary color standards should be used when they are available.

4.2 Individual John Deere units are responsible for determining the need for a secondary color
standard and for developing an appropriate secondary color standard. John Deere Technology Center –
Moline is responsible for measuring color instrumentally (where appropriate) and for refereeing the
acceptability of the visual color match between the primary color standard and a proposed secondary
color standard.

4.3 To obtain secondary color standards, contact the appropriate John Deere unit.
