2.2 Packaging, packaging materials, and packaging aids

The following packaging, packaging materials, and packaging aids must be used:
- Reusable load carriers
- As per Porsche Load Carrier Catalog
- With an extensively operational pool of available load carriers
- With reusable inserts and cardboard boxes
- Returnable packaging
- One-way packaging
- Various packaging aids
Special cases, such as transport of plants and machinery, must be agreed upon separately;
see also section 4.

3 Requirements for packaging

In cases where the packaging is not returned to the distributor, it must comply with the
requirements specified in sections 3.1 to 3.4:
3.1 General requirements
- Packaging must be capable of being emptied completely and easy to clean, in some cases
with the aid of interior liners, etc.
- Packaging made of composite materials or combinations of materials must be avoided. If
this is not possible, such packaging must be minimized and must be easily separable after
use.
- Markings and labeling on the packaging must not restrict its recyclability.
3.2 Reusable load carriers
The use of reusable load carriers is preferred. One-way packaging is permitted only in justified
cases.
3.3 Packaging substances (material) for one-way packaging
To achieve a high recyclability of one-way packaging (including packaging aids), the permitted
types/treatment of the packaging materials listed in Table 1 (see page 4) must be adhered to.
For deliveries to the Parts Service department, Porsche original packaging is also permitted in
consultation with the same.
Where applicable, the respective packaging materials and packaging aids
- must be marked with marks or symbols that are standardized or recognized by the waste
management industry (e.g., as per RESY, DIN 6120, DIN 7728-2, DIN ISO 1043-1 and -2).
Exceptions and deviations must be agreed upon separately; see also section 4.

3.4 Minimizing one-way packaging

If the use of one-way packaging is unavoidable, the weight and volume of this packaging must be
minimized.
4 Exceptions and special provisions
If the requirements specified in sections 3.1 to 3.4 cannot be adhered to, deviations must be
approved by the appropriate packaging planner of the respective factory or the Part Service
department; the buyer must be consulted for overhead material in each case.
In any case, an exception approval must be obtained from Porsche AG in a timely manner in order
to ensure on-schedule delivery.
