The unified mission of DepEd is to protect and promote the right of
EXECUTIVE every Filipino to quality, equitable, culture-based and complete basic
SUMMARY education where students learn in a child-friendly, gender-sensitive, safe
and motivating environment. To achieve this mission especially that of
becoming gender-sensitive Filipino is for the learners to be equipped with
necessary information. This can be realized if teachers are equipped with
knowledge, skills, values and attitudes towards developing gender-sensitive
society. Thus, this seminar provides teachers information on Gender and
Development (GAD) advocacies that would be applicable in creating and
maintaining a child-friendly and gender-fair learning environment.
The flow and content of the seminar was very informative in terms
of addressing the needs of the school in providing a gender-sensitive
learning environment through instruction and communication. This taught
the teaching and non-teaching staff, both men and women, the importance
