CABLE REELING DRUM (WITH ISC MAKE 20 MTRS. OF EPR CABLE) :-

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION FOR BATTERY BACK-UP SYSTEM FOR LIFTING
MAGNET :-

Battery Back Up : Suitable for 10-15 minutes.

The Battery back up arrangement for safety is very useful in applications where the power supply tends
to trip often and the use of electromagnets in confined spaces become hazardous.

The system is to provide D.C. power even though the input power fails. The system consists of a set of
batteries, a float-cum-boost charger, which is used as a stand by source of power, generated from the
bank of lead acid accumulators. The magnet will be continuously drawing current from the batteries
and in the event of power failure, the magnet draws power from this bank for a period ranging 15 to 30
minutes. The float battery charger will be continuously trickle charging and keep the batteries always in
fully charged condition. This will prevent the dropping of the materials due to power Interruptions. After
restoration of the power, the same battery charger can be put into boost operation to charge the
discharged batteries to avoid battery draining; one isolator switch is provided with the master controller
to switch the horn.
The circuit is arranged in such a way, that in case of power failure, a horn provided in the driver’s cabin
will blow and caution the driver as well as the person below. That is why; this can be mounted on the
crane walk-way.

This type of charger will have cut off system in which the charging of the battery stops when battery
gets fully charged.

The Boost charger will be provided by us. Battery will be procured by the buyer as per the
specification given below.

MASTER CONTROLLER :-
Technical Details : Three position control switch with "LIFT-OFF-
DROP” Position and suitable to operate the
Control Panel as mentioned above.
QUICK CABLE CONNECTORS :-
Type : Bayonet type with locking arrangement.
Arrangement : A set comprises two female and two male springs
loaded contacts sheathed in high density rubber.
The two ends of the entry and exit are protected
by rubber dividers to prevent cable tearing.

DESIGN DETAILS
COILS
All coils of the electromagnet will be wound with adequately rated electrolytic grade conductor and insulated
with tropic proof insulator. All leads will be positively secured to terminal ends inside the coil assembly and
brought out for external connections, eliminating all chances of damage from expansion and contraction of
the coils. The magnet body will be fabricated from high permeability mild steel as per BSS: 1617 or
equivalent Indian Standards. All coils will be bound directly on the body, impregnated and sealed into the
shell, using high temperature resistant compound as per BS: 2757.
TERMINAL BOX
The coil leads will terminate in a terminal plate with terminal screw and will be protected in a box integral with
the body of the magnet.

PROTECTION OF COILS
The bumper plate of non-magnetic steel will be used to protect the coil from shocks.
INSULATION
The coil will have class ‘H’ insulation

WORKING VOLTAGE
The lifting magnet is designed for working on 220 V, D.C. with high lifting force and low power consumption.
We will include the prices of requisite rectifier and control equipment for obtaining D.C. supply from 415V, 3
Phase, 4 Wires, 50 Hz. A.C. system.
CONTROL PANEL
TRANSFORMER AND RECTIFIER WITH CONTROL PANEL
The D.C. power of energizing the magnet will be obtained from the power supply for the cranes (415 V ± 5%,
3 phases, 4 wires, 50 Hz.) through adequately rated transformer and 3 phase bridge connected silicon
rectifier circuits. Necessary protection for suppression of switching transients and surges encountered in
normal working of the lifting magnet as well as D.C. load applications will be made in the circuit. The
equipment will be designed for class IV steel mill duty. The construction will be dust, weather and vermin
proof, suitable for working in tropical humid climate.
CONTROL CIRCUIT
Special heavy duty lifting magnet control panel, over and above the switch fuse for receiving A.C. 3 phase,
50 Hz. supply to be provided in the control panels.
All the above components for the lifting magnet control circuit will be complete with necessary terminals and
inter-connections, in a dust and vermin proof wall mounting type sheet metal box having hinged front door
and suitable compression glands for PVC / XLPE armored cable entry.
MAGNET MASTER CONTROLLER:
The master controller for the lifting magnet will be a totally enclosed sheet metal clad, dust and vermin proof,
wall mounting type unit suitable for mounting separately, in a convenient position in the operator’s cabin. It
will have position marked on it.
SCOPE OF WORK / SUPPLY
Design, manufacture, procurement of all standard proprietary items, assembly, shop testing and
delivery at site of the magnet complete with all accessories as specified.

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS:-

DELIVERY:- The equipment can be delivered within 2 weeks from the date of your confirmed
order, advance, approval of drawings & all techno – commercial details whichever is
earlier.

TAX & DUTIES :- GST @18% will be charged extra.

PAYMENT: - An advance of 40% (interest free) with the order and the balance against Pro-forma
Invoice before delivery or within 7 days of inspection.

INSPECTION: - The Magnet would be available for inspection electrically, as well as physically, to
withstand all the specifications mentioned above. This could be done by you in our
premises before delivery.

GUARANTEE: - The equipment stands guaranteed for 14 months from the date of despatch or 12
months from the date of commissioning, if commissioning not done by our service
engineer then a commissioning report

has to be send by the customer so that we can keep track of the exact guarantee
period. The guarantee stands immediately cancelled if any changes made by the
customer in our supplied control panel / terminal junction of the magnet.

COMMISSIONING:- Our representative will supervise the erection and commissioning of the
equipment and charges of Rs. 2000 per day (or local currency) shall be
borne by the customer for the number of days our representative is away
from Kolkata and also to & fro air ticket (if urgent by customer) or III tier AC
train fare to the nearest airport / station and thereafter taxi / bus fare to the
site along with lodging and boarding will be arranged at your cost.

VALIDITY: - Our offer is valid for 15 days from today and, the validity, thereafter is
subject to confirmation from our end.
