The simple present tense rules
1. To conjugate the regular and irregular verbs in simple present
tense we use the base form of the verb.
2. To conjugate the regular and irregular verbs in simple present
tense with the third person singular (he, she, it) we add “S” or
“ES” to the base form.
With the verbs that end in (o,s,sh,ch,x) we use the “es”.
3. To make the interrogative form in simple present tense we use
before the subject the auxiliary verb (DO) with (I, you, we,
they) and (DOES) with (he, she, it) and the main verb in base
form.
4. To make the negative form we use the auxiliary verb (do not –
don´t or does not – doesn´t) after the subject and the main
verb in base form.
5. To make the affirmative form we don´t use the auxiliary verb,
so the main verb has to be in base form. Remember the rule
for third person.
