Maayong buntag kaninyong tanan!
I am here to speak on behalf of Secretary Eduardo Del Rosario.
And what I am about to say, we surely be the same things our beloved Secretary have in his mind.
In the Department of Human Settlements and Urban
Development, with all the challenges and responsibilities, we have enormous respect and gratitude for the efforts of homebuilders, for giving the Filipinos the opportunity to experience a decent and quality homeownership. Homeownership creates a strong society and ultimately, a great country. At the core of our mission lie the pioneering and exciting plans through our 20-year roadmap to forge stronger partnerships with the public and private sectors, the real estate industry, the local government units, the homeowners’ associations. We recognize that in order to make a difference in uplifting the lives and welfare of the Filipino People, especially the poorest and neediest among us, the national government cannot do it alone. We must pool in all our hard work, resources, plans, and programs to achieve our common goals.
We understand that having a house is not that having a roof
over our heads. It is not bricks and beams. It is something we take pride in, a place where each family builds a dream. It plays a vital role in shaping our lives. It is a place where we feel safe and secured. To the Social Housing Finance Corporation, the Local Government Unit of Katipunan, and the San Antonio Fisherfolks Homeowner’s Association, and the members of the community, you have our immense appreciation. In the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development, we are committed to working with you to help provide affordable, sustainable, safe, and quality homes. I know how strongly you support us and one another in our important projects and initiatives. Because of your strong involvement and proactive cooperation, we have able to reach out to a lot of people, which gave us a chance to do service, to do good, to change lives. May we positively, unitedly, and progressively maximize these opportunities.
The Duterte Administration is trying to do more than enough
to make sure we meet the housing needs of Filipino families but in ultimately it will be all up to you—the homebuilders, the homeowners’’ association, and local government units—to keep this dream of homeownership alive in the next administrations and generations to come.
Congratulations to all on this momentous occasion of turnover
of 130 completed housing units for the members of San Antonio Fisherfolks Homeowners’ Association.
