Observation
The four exercises in this lesson include a more varied range of aspects.
Exercises 66 and 69 are giving you the opportunity to breathe without creating technical difficulties.
In Exercise 67, two new elements: the 2/4 measure and the Allegretto tempo, so as not to distance away from the real tempo,
because it is a popular melody.
Attention to the asterisk (*): it indicates a more difficult passage.
Exercise 68 is giving you breathing and technical problems. In the 5th measure, the movement of second and third is not so easy.
It repeats several times, and that is why we suggest studying this fragment separately, in a slower tempo, for example an Andante,
and then return to the normal tempo. The dominant tone, MI minor, is introduced to color the 'exercise. If you take two days for
each exercise, this lesson will keep you busy for eight days.
If you fail to perform well, extend the study as long as necessary.
Don't forget breathing in the eighth notes; given the dynamics of the exercise, you don't have time to breathe during these
measurements. You can achieve the longest possible phase by breathing at the required values, or e respecting the R sign by
breathing very quickly each time, without taking a large amount of air, because you would not have time.

Observation
Exercise 70 poses serious problems of precision and especially breathing, just like exercise 72. Movement in thirds is not easy.
Be completely relaxed and rested when you begin the study of thirds to be able to focus. The asterisks (*) warn you of measures
that are difficult to solve, so that you can prepare to execute them. Use your breath carefully, slow down, before the R sign, to be
able to breathe to learn the technique of rapid breathing. In third and measure:

help yourself more with your hands, to facilitate the rapid and precise movement of the head, right and left. This is very important.
One week will suffice for this lesson.

The exercises in this lesson are made more difficult at the frequency of the intervals. Descend arpeggios are also difficult to
execute. As in the measures: ....

And especially in the following passage: ......

These passages were specially introduced to make the muscles of the neck stronger and to untie the hands which, during the
exercise, are always contracted.
Exercises 76, despite its small extent, are very difficult to execute.
Studying slowly and carefully, you will be able to execute it correctly.
There are also some measures, such as: .....

For the first example, you have to breathe deeply before the DO note to be able to resist for two bars, and if you sometimes get
the wrong pipe, do not worry, start again.
In the second example, you have two fourths in successive arpeggios. Study them slowly, one by one: otherwise, you will not
feel this passage. Beware of the SOL MAJEUR range of exercise 73, where it appears for the first time, execute it with calm and
precision. Place the pipes exactly on the lip. Given the problems raised by this exercise, it will have you to study carefully two
weeks.

Observation
In Exercise 77, the fourths, which appear from the first measure will be the most difficult to achieve.
The seconds intervals also require a precise execution. Exercise 78 also has scales directly and by repeated notes.

The problem in all these cases, and especially the third one, it is mainly the breathing. After the ascending octave, the descending
fourth leaves no time to take you breath. It is therefore necessary to take advantage of the R placed before the measurement to
breathe in the air which will make it possible for you to resist eight times.

If we put an R after the first measure, it would be uncomfortable for us to find the necessary time to breath, even in Andante.
Can you imagine what would happen with this passage in Allegro?
Also pay attention to the last measures of Execice 79
The study of this lesson will last 10 to 14 days.

The lesson 13 doesn’t have anything special, except some passages of black scales ascending or descending at exercise 80.

You already meet the other problems.
It is rather a lesson of controlling yourself and that is why you must give it your full attention. Do these exercises for eight or ten
days: this lesson will consolidate your knowledge.

Lesson 14 (p. 67-70)

Now is the time to introduce the elements which will give greater vitality to the exercises that will come.
Here is the position on the pan flute of the MI MINER scale.
On pan flute this tone is very beautiful and you will realize it by yourself later, when you get used to it and when you come to
choose the pieces of your repertoire with preponderance in E minor.
Pay close attention to what will follow. Do not forget to put the metronome near you, or to cheep the beat with your foot.

Observation
As you can see, the lesson is not at all easy. The two difficult exercises 84 and 85 are alternated with other easier ones. There are
really difficult passages to perform like these ones:

Ascending and descending arpeggio or quarter repeats three times in a row.

Repeating fourth
Three zigzag fourths.
Three fourths continuing with an ascending arpeggio ending with two zigzag fourths

Syncope

All these elements together give serious problems to the students. Their study time should be longer. In the same time, the
duration of daily study must be extended now and reach 2-3 hours of study per day including 45 minutes - 1 hour of study of the
notes you have until now and of the staccato, and 2 hours of exercises distributed as follows: 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in
the afternoon. To progress we must insist more and more now. This lesson will give you 15-20 days of study (with repetitions
necessary) for a deeper knowledge of the material. Remember the difficult formulas, respect the rhythm, and only if you learn
with great desiret you can try these exercises in a more lively tempo.

Observation
If exercise 87 is an accommodation exercise, the two other problems of staccato are added to those of the agility of the
movement of the head and hands and of the breathing (ex.89).
This lesson will allow you to check how you are performing the third and fourth intervals. Try, for example, exercises 88 and 89.
First is in Allegretto, the second in Allegro. In case of failure, rest at the indicated tempo, insisting on each interval. Before going
farther, it would be necessary to take a 3-4 day break to give your body the opportunity to rest after a lot of intense effort.
