Resistors
Assalamualaikum Wr.Wb.
Good afternoon everybody, let me introduce my self. My name is Elgaham Rossiananto, i’m from
IL-3A number 5.
Description
First of all, I will explain what a resistors is Resistors are electronic components that block electric
current. Resistors are included in passive components because these components do not require an
electric current to work. Resistors are made of carbon and ceramic materials in the form of tubes. The
greater the capacity of the resistor, the larger the diameter of the tube used.
In general, resistors can be classified into several types, including Fixed Resistors, Variable Resistors,
Thermistors and LDR
A. Fixed Resistor
Fixed Resistor is a type of resistor that has a fixed resistance value. The value of the resistance or
resistance of this resistor is usually marked with a color code or number code.
Those belonging to the Fixed Resistor Category based on the composition of the material they are
made of include:
1. Carbon Composition Resistor
2. Carbon Film Resistor
3. Metal Film Resistor
B. Variable Resistor
Variable Resistor is a type of resistor whose resistance value can be changed and adjusted as
desired.
Those belonging to the Variable Resistor Category based on the composition of the material
they are made of include:
1. Potentiometer
2. Rheostat
3. Preset Resistor (Trimpot)
C. (Thermal Resistor)
Thermistor is a type of resistor whose resistance value can be affected by temperature
(Temperature). Thermistor is an abbreviation of "Thermal Resistor". There are two types of
thermistors, namely NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient) and PTC (Positive Temperature
Coefficient) thermistors.
That’s all for me, thank you for your attention and sorry if there are word mistakes
