Sambunot

Sambunot is a traditional Filipino game played with a coconut husk where teams of 5-10 members try to steal the husk from each other and bring it back to their home base. Players position themselves in a large circular field, and at the signal rush to grab the coconut husk in the center and try to escape the circle while avoiding getting it stolen by other players so they can return it to their team's home base, scoring a point. The game improves players' physical strength and strategic skills.

Number of Players per Team

A team is compost of at least


five and at most ten members.
MECHANICS
 Teams look for a spacious area and agree on the boundary lines.
Usually a big circle is drawn. Outside the circle, home bases are
identified by each team.
 The coconut husk is placed at the center of the circle.
 The players position themselves inside the circle.
 At the signal ″GO,″ players will rush to the center to get the coconut
husk.
 Players may steal the coconut husk from another player in an
attempt to be the one to take the husk or to the designated home
base.
 A player who is successful in getting out of the circle with the
coconut husk to the home base wins, and the game starts again.
