Lesson Plan

The document provides a detailed lesson plan about the interiors of the Earth for a 10th grade science class. The lesson plan aims to teach students about the internal structure of the Earth, including identifying the composition of the Earth's crust, mantle, outer core and inner core. The lesson involves students watching an introductory video, doing an activity in pairs to label the Earth's interiors, and presenting their activity to the class. The teacher leads a discussion to review the key concepts and definitions.

of volcanoes, earthquake, epicenters and mountain ranges.
PERFORMANCE STANDARD
The learner is able to demonstrates ways to ensures disaster preparedness during earthquakes,
tsunamis, and volcanic eruption.
LEARNING COMPETENCIES
Describe the internal structure of the Earth.
OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the student are expected to;
Identify the composition of the Earths Interior;
Define crust, mantle, inner core, outer core; and
Comply with the information gathered in identifying the Earths Interior.
SUBJECT MATTER
Topic: Earth’s Interior

Activity sheet
Projector
Skills to be develop: Analyzing, Discovering
Values Integration: Patience, Cooperation
Methodology: 4A’s
Concepts:
The thinnest and the outermost layer of the Earth that extends from the surface to about 32
kilometers below is called the Crust.
Beneath the crust which extends to about 2900 kilometer from the Earth surface and makes up
about 80% of the Earth total volume and about 68% of its total mass is called the Mantle.
A core that about 2900 kilometers below and 2250 kilometers thick to the earth surface and made
up of iron and nickel is called outer core.
A core that is made up of solid iron and nickel and has radius of 1300 kilometer is called inner core.
