LT DPT (LRV & URV) Calc

This document provides calculations for setting the level ranges (LRV and URV) of a differential pressure type level transmitter using either a wet leg or dry leg installation. For a wet leg where both sides of the transmitter are filled with liquid, the LRV is calculated as 60 inH2O and the URV is calculated as 83 inH2O based on example parameter values provided. For a dry leg where the low side is exposed to atmosphere, the LRV is calculated as 120 inH2O and the URV is calculated as 143 inH2O. Wet legs are used where both sides will be filled with liquid, while dry legs are used for open tanks where the low side is exposed to atmosphere.

Wet legs are used on differential pressure measurement where both sides are filled with liquid. Exception is level measurement in a
pressurised vessel (boilers). Dry legs are used where the low side is exposed to atmosphere (using a DP transmitter for level measurement
in a open tank.
