ANNUAL THANKSGIVING BANQUET
Sunday, Nov 20. Here’s how the day will go: Worship as usual at 9:30.
CONNECT ONLINE Following worship, we will make our way to the CLC gym. This year’s program
will be Nick Sheffield and several of our UT Tyler singers offering up some

beautiful music starting at 11:00a.m. Then around 11:30, we will serve lunch
and dessert!
Every year our denomination’s special Thanksgiving offering goes to Higher Education to help our Disciples related
Colleges and Universities (ex. TCU, Jarvis, Philips Seminary). This year, rather than confuse that offering with a
different offering for our banquet, we are joining the two giving opportunities together. The idea of the banquet is
that all of us eating around the tables give to the special offering the amount of money we would have spent eating
this meal out ($12-$15). Regardless, our Outreach Ministry hopes you will come and enjoy good food, and good
company for a good cause.
CELEBRATION AND COMMITMENT: NEXT STEPS
In response to our pledges on Oct 30, FCC’s Finance Committee will next
work to “right size” our budget for 2023. Finance’s proposed budget will
then be considered by the Board on Nov. 16. And, the budget the Board
passes will then be brought before our congregation for a vote on Sunday,
Dec. 4 at 10:35 a.m. in Disciples Hall.
If you plan to give in 2023 and have not yet let us know your intentions,
please contact Tricia Anderson in the Church Office or turn in your pledge
card as soon as possible. We are truly in this “together for joy.”
The Purple Hulls are coming once again to celebrate with us on Dec. 4th at 1:30!
We are ecstatic to have such talented artists joining us for another year. The
"Hulls" spent a number of years in Nashville honing their craft, writing for Sony
Publishing, touring with various artists as side musicians, doing session work, and
since back in Texas have been touring with other artists. We hope you are able to
join us for this exciting event! Tickets are $15.
