OMISSION

POINTS TO REMEMBER:

 One word has been omitted in each line of the passage.


 Read the passage carefully and mark the place from where the word has been omitted.
 Think of the missing word. It could be a helping verb, a modal, a determiner, a
conjunction, a preposition, etc.
 Write three words: a word before, the word you are to insert and one word that comes
after it. Read the example carefully to know how you are to provide the answer in each
case.
 Underline the word provided by you.
 Revise your answers.

Let’s try doing some omission exercises given below.

Q1. In the passage given below, one word has been omitted in each line. Write the missing
word along with the word that comes before and the word that comes after it. Don’t forget
to underline the omitted word supplied by you. The first one has been done for you as an
example.
