10 Team Single Elimination

Materials:

   Shells or small stones

   Boat-shaped solid wooden board (Sungkaan)

Game Mechanics:

1. The sungka tournament will have 10 teams who will be players.

2. The sungka tournament will follow a 10 team single elimination rule.
3. A player will be given a number on the game site which will be their player number.

4. Each player has seven houses in front of him and the heads should be at the far ends to the left
and right. Each player's "ulo" is the hole/pit to his extreme left.
5. 49 shells or stones will be placed in each of the seven "bahays" (houses).
6. Both players play simultaneously. Once a player has ended their first turn, he must wait for the
opponent to also end his turn and from that point on, players simply take it in turns to play their
turns.
7. A player may only start with a house on his side of the board.
8. The game ends when neither of the players can play on.

Special Rules:

  If the last piece distributed falls into a player’s own home, the player then gets an additional turn,
which can begin any of the seven holes on that player’s side.

  If the last piece lands on an empty hole on their own side, the player then captures all shells adjacent
to where it lands, and puts them into their home, together with the last distributed piece, as a result this
end the player’s turn. However, if the adjacent hole is empty, then this automatically ends the player’s
turn.

  If it’s the turn of a player, and there are no shells in his/her side of the field, the player automatically
losses his turn.

  The game ends when there are no shells left in any holes on both rows of the board. If he/she has
accumulated the greatest number of shells, then that player is declared as the winner.
