Search for cases which highlight that a good rational moral decision is not always executed. Explain
your given cases and submit your word file here in the Dropbox.
CASE 1.
Making a promise to a friend and then breaking it was an example of not executing a good
rational moral decision. Why? Is it because when you make a promise to someone, you must keep it
without no hesitation. For example, you had a reunion with your friends, and they have been asking you
out ever since, but you have declined. Then, they ask you again in a few months, and you can't say no
because it's your bestfriend's birthday, so you accept and swear to come. Few days later, your girlfriend
ask you on a date on the same day on your bestfriends birthday, and then you forget it because you
we’re too excited on your date with your girlfriend so you broke your promise again.
Keeping a promise is really difficult to make because of sudden events that’s why when I make a
promise to someone, I’ll make sure that I had no other events to attend to so that I can make sure to
fulfill my promise to someone. For me, a promise is a bit sadful word because it was really sad when
someone made a promise but they did not do it. That’s why before making a promise, think carefully so
that someone you will make a promise will not be hurt.
CASE 2.
When it comes in group activity, members have strong reliance to the leader or the other
members who is smart in the class. In doing activities like paper works or thesis, leaders or other
members of the group could see bad decisions being made that could be bad for your output and
anyone have no courage to speak up and point the flaws rather than waiting for the bad thing to
happen and then make statements such “Like I thought, that wouldn’t work out well”.
If students have plenty of ideas but confidence isn’t their strong point, the only solution is
practice. The more they continue to share their thoughts with the team, the simpler it will become,
particularly when they see that people normally respond by listening rather than pointing and laughing
to the other members.
