Cooperative Mandatory Reports and Some Updates
Moreover, the CDA has posted in its website (www.cda.gov.ph) the updated
Cooperative Annual Performance Report now called Cooperative Annual Progress
Report with some enhancements done to capture relevant information that can be used
by CDA and all stakeholders. Cooperatives with internet access can download the
forms and fill-up the required fields. For CDA-CAR Extension Office registered
cooperatives, photocopies of the said form are available at the CDA-CAR Extension
Office located at 4thFloor, New Building, Lyman Ogilby Centrum, Magsaysay, Baguio
City.
In addition to the revised CAPR all other Mandatory Reports like Audited Financial
Statement (with BIR stamp received), duly filled up Social Audit Report, Performance
Report and Report on List of Officers and Trainings Attended shall be submitted to the
Extension Office. It is encouraged that updated bond of accountable officer, Minutes of
the Latest General Assembly Meeting, and letter request for the issuance of Certificate
of Good Standing (CGS) stating the purpose be simultaneously forwarded with the said
mandatory reports. Deadline of submission is April 30, 2015 and corresponding
penalties shall be imposed on all late reports.
Year 2014 was a fruitful year for CDA-CAR Extension Office as about 85% of the total
registered cooperatives complied with mandatory reportorial requirements. Our
Extension Office was adjudged as one among the Best Performing Region in 2013
given your unending support. You made all the CDA personnel happy given the
financial rewards they received as a result of our good collaboration. Thank you and let
us sustain the solidarity and teamwork we have built through the years.
Our neighbor lawyer says Mine, Oh, Mine. We join him in the excitements for the year
2015. Congratulations and best wishes to Mr. Adrian Bartolo and my cousin Cathy
Calixto who tied the knot at the Southern Baptist Church, Lubo, Kibungan, Benguet last
January 10, 2015. The celebration was officiated by Pastor Esio Paul Tabon, Minister of
the said church. With us include Benguet Board Member Robert Namoro, Councilor
Edwin Nitron, Punong Barangay Nestor Esteban and some kagawads. It was a
privilege to be counted as one of the sponsors and to visit my hometown that was once
upon a time a mining site. Thank you pastor , fellow Ninongs and Ninangs for the
enlightenment and added humor during the occasion, it made the activity lively.
We observed the mined out area had changed since Western Minolco Corporation
abandoned it in 1982. From barren lands due to open pit mining it gradually gained
some greenery with the growth of grasses and endemic tree species. We hope
cooperatives will help in sustaining the positive environmental changes in Lubo and
Boneng, Naguey, Atok, Benguet. The area can be converted as an additional eco-
tourism site given the man-made lake and the remnants of open pit mining operation.
The newly registered BLUE Farmers Consumers Cooperative based at the Old Motor
Pool area is the only operating cooperative in sitio Boneng. Trekkers can also enjoy the
camp site along the hill of Boneng with grass vegetation and overlooking barangay
Naguey and Poblacion, Atok.
Adjacent to it are burial caves in sitioInuman of barangay Pasdong, Atok, Benguet. One
can have a glimpse on how our ancestors managed to carve logs turned into coffins.
Going down to Pasdong Proper, one can enjoy the rampaging headwaters of
Amburayan River. Folks of the area are good at making “tapey” out of their rice
produce. The Pasdong Farmers Multi-purpose Cooperative supplies the basic goods
and services needed by the community. It’s one of the millionaire cooperatives located
in the interior barangays of Atok that received numerous support from private and public
institutions.
Again, iyamanendakayo am-in.
About Lotes Pundoen Lab-oyan
Lotes works as a Cooperative Development Specialist II presently assigned under the
Supervisory and Examination Unit of the Cooperative Development Authority-Cordillera
Extension Office. Prior to his entry to the government, he also worked with private and semi-
government agencies like the Cooperative Bank of Benguet (CoopBank of Benguet or CBB),
Central Cordillera Agricultural Programme (CECAP) and Development Agency of Tribes in the
Cordillera, Inc. (DATCI). Recently, he decided to hone his writing skills acquired during his
student days at the Benguet State University with some write ups featured in the local dailies like
Baguio Midland Courier, The Northern Tribune, Baguio Herald Express and CDA website
(www.cda.gov.ph). He believes that print and social media network plays a critical role in
community development especially in the promotion of cooperatives as instrument of socio-
economic development. It may sound unacceptable that this former newsboy and Bachelor of
Science in Agriculture graduate had inclination to write as a hobby and way of expressing his
thoughts on matters that affect the community. Indeed, he finds writing as fun and enjoyable.
