Terms & Conditions

1. Radio Body Cover
1.1. The ‘radio body’ is defined as the main radio unit excluding battery, charger, antenna, cables & accessories
1.2. Only Entel provided software, parts & labour is covered by the service.
1.3. For the duration of cover; Entel will repair any radio body that has a fault caused by a manufacturing defect or
accidental damage encountered during normal operation of the radio within its technical specifications.
1.4. Workshop Turnaround times are targeted at one working day. On occasion, due to circumstances beyond our control,
turnaround times may be exceeded.
2. Not Covered
2.1. Cover cannot be provided where a radios model /serial number is unreadable
2.2. When a radio body is deemed to be Beyond Economical Repair (BER), e.g. where:
2.2.1. The radio is considered a total loss e.g. crushed, fire/water damaged internals.
2.2.2. The cost to repair exceeds the radio bodies market value at the time of the repair
2.2.3. In the case of intrinsically safe radios, the radios anti-tamper seal has been broken or removed
2.3. Faults / damage caused by:
2.3.1. Natural or Manmade disasters including but not limited to fire, theft and floods
2.3.2. Use of any third party accessories or products not previously approved by Entel in writing
2.3.3. Modifications or Repairs to the Radio Body carried out by anyone other than Entel
2.3.4. Use of a radio body outside its operational / electrical /environmental parameters or in any way for which it
was not designed
2.4. Programming data. Unless originally programmed by Entel, Entel shall not be responsible for replacing any lost or
corrupted programming data.
3. Cessation of cover
3.1. Cover will cease once:
3.1.1. The radio body is deemed to be Beyond Economical Repair (2.2 above).
3.1.2. The radio body has been exposed to stresses outside its operational /electrical /environmental parameters or
used in any way for which it was not designed.
3.1.3. Fault / Damage caused as a result of Modifications or Repairs carried out by anyone other than Entel
3.1.4. A radio body has been subject to excessive accidental damage, neglect or abuse, identified as a higher
rate when compared to other users of the same / similar radio.
3.1.5. The agreement has exceeded its time limit
4. General
4.1. Cover can only be purchased when ordering the radio(s)
4.2. Cover is not transferrable (unless agreed by Entel in writing)
4.3. To maintain turn-around times, Entel may exchange a faulty radio body with an equivalent service exchange
radio body (retaining the original serial number).Any outstanding cover will automatically be transferred to
the service exchange radio body.
4.4. If possible, programming of the service exchange radio will be carried out by Entel. If not possible it will be the
responsibility of the company who programmed the original radio.
4.5. Entel will retain / safely dispose of any faulty / worn out items replaced by us at no additional cost.
4.6. Unless stated otherwise, Entel reserves the right to modify the above terms & conditions with a minimum 30
days’ notice.
4.7. Inclusive Collection & Delivery services are only offered on the radio body (as defined in 1.1) and where a standard
cost service is provided by Entel’s courier (currently DHL/FedEx).
4.8. Entel does not provide a custom clearing and is not responsible for any costs related to tthe use of clearing
agents or charges applied by customs agencies.
EQUIPMENT HIRE
Short Term Hire

Entel offers a simple flat rate short term equipment hire service.
Each radio is supplied complete with:

> One battery, belt clip and antenna.
> A mains powered charger*.
* Either 1-way or 6-way chargers will be supplied (subject to the number of radios).

FIXED PICE REPAIRS
Fixed Price Repair Service

Entel offers a simple Fixed Price Repair (FPR) service where the cost to repair your Entel product is
fixed regardless of the fault.
We dispatch our repairs within 3 working days of receipt, most often the same day.
For customers who need a guaranteed turnaround please see Entel’s Comprehensive Maintenance
service which, for a small one-time up-front fee, guarantees a 1 – 2 working-day turnaround,
includes two-way carriage and accidental damage cover for a period of 3 or 5-years.
All repairs carry a 90 day warranty, should the unit be returned to Entel within this time it will be
repaired free of charge (excluding physical damage).
Some units may be Beyond Economical Repair (BER), e.g. if the radio has been crushed. In this case
Entel offers new BER replacement units at a discounted rate.
Entel’s FPR service is offered the products listed below.
