Output 1: Independent Critique on the Excerpt from Kaffir Boy by Mark Matahbane
I. Introduction
A kaffir boy is the true story of a blacks Youths coming of age in Apartheid South Africa is Mark
Metahbane 1886 autobiography about life in the South. The date of publication in 1986, Mark
Matahbane was born on October 18, 1960, in Alexander. The word Kaffir is of Arabic origin.IT
means “infidel” in South Africa it is used disparagingly by most whites to ret to blacks. The mother
of the child wants to go to school he explained an education how the Importance is. But his father
did not want to go to school because he believes education is only a tool. A mother explained what
he had experienced when he did not go to school and he realized his son is the key and continue
his dreams. She did not want to same experience that happened now in their lives.
II. Summarize
The main purpose of the authors may be to realize that education is the most important thing
that we need to do first. By learning from a young age, children are given the chance to start
building goals for themselves. Education means having the logic to set your mind to something
and achieve it.
The father of the child contrary his son to become educated because he did not believe in
education, he thought educations are not important. His mother pursues his sons to go to
school because of beliefs that the woman is only in the house.
I’ am happy and amazed because all parent support and wants to finish their studies because
of some experiences of parent that way he really pursues his son because he did not want to
become like his father. This concept really worked. In this a word of mother say “for turn promises
that I” ll do everything in my power to keep you there”, this is very inspired who can read these
short stories.
I feel good and great when I read these stories because they can only focus on the importance
of education. It gives inspiration to all readers it reminds us that education is the key to success.
It was written by the author because he wants to share the story of experiences same
experiences the mothers inspired the readers. Even though his father is contrary to his child she
pursues what women want and the author realized that these dreams are from his mothers.
