Specifications
The Hall Effect camshaft position sensor senses the Top dead center (TDC) point of the #1 cylinder in the compression stroke ,
which allows the ECU to determine when to start the injection. The trigger is mounted in the camshaft

Location : Cam sensor is placed in the Cambox housing. Torque: 8-10 Nm.

Operating Temp: -40°C to 130°C

Operating Voltage: 12V DC

Air Gap: 0.3-3 mm

CHAPTER 8 SENSOR CHECKING PROCEDURE PAGE 36
Inspection Method

CONNECTOR:
• Remove the ECU connector and check the continuity in the wiring harness.
• Connect ECU connector and switch on the ignition and measure the input voltage on pin 1
for sensor supply Voltage.
Output voltage = ~5V DC (Pin 2)
• If faulty replace the wiring harness.
• If fault is not found and problem still persists, then replace the cam sensor.

The Crankshaft speed sensor is an inductive type sensor. It measures the speed of the trigger wheel mounted on the Fly wheel .
Crankshaft sensor produces AC voltage of different frequency based upon the speed of the engine. Along with the engine speed ,
crankshaft speed sensor is used to measure the TDC position of the piston.
Location : Crank sensor is installed in the cylinder block and is facing towards the flywheel. Tightening torque – 5-8 Nm
Operating Temp: -30°C to 130°C
Air Gap: 0.5 mm to 1.5 mm
CHAPTER 8 SENSOR CHECKING PROCEDURE PAGE 38

• When the engine is switched ON then the ECU detects the temperature. After that when the engine runs then the temperature output on a
time frame is detected and compared against predetermined values
• The CTS sensor is a variable resistor whose resistance changes as the temperature of the engine coolant flowing past the sensor changes.(NTC
resistor) When the coolant temperature is low, the sensor resistance is high; when the coolant temperature is high, the sensor resistance is low. The
ECU checks CTS voltage and uses the information to help smoothen the engine operation.
