HP 300 Ul X Battery Calc

This document contains a battery calculation chart for an FL-IPKIT system. It lists the regulated load in standby and alarm for various devices and calculates the total current draw. It then uses the standby and alarm current loads along with required time periods to calculate the total amp-hours required, applying a derating factor of 1.2 to determine a minimum battery size of 10 amp-hours for the system.

Entries only to be made in the Yellow cell locations

Regulated Load in Standby

Number of Current Total Current
Device Type Devices (Amps) (Amps)

Main PC Board HP300ULX 1 X 0.14 = 0.14

IPDACT 1 X 0.1 = 0.1

411 1 X 0.078 = 0.078

STANDBY LOAD = 0.318

Regulated Load in ALARM

Number of Current Total Current
Device Type Devices (Amps) (Amps)

Main PC Board without AC 1 X 0.2 = 0.2

IPDACT 1 X 0.3 = 0.3

411 1 X 0.126 = 0.126

ALARM LOAD = 0.626

Battery Amp Hour Calculation

Standby Load Required Standby Time
Current (Amps) (Typically 24 or 60 Hours)
0.318 X 24 = 7.632 AH
Alarm Load Required Alarm Time
Current (Amps) (Typically 5 or 10 Minutes)
0.626 X 5 = 0.05 AH

Sub Total Standby / Alarm Amp Hours 7.68 AH

Multiply by the Derating Factor X 1.2 *
Total Ampere Hours Required = 10 AH

* Derating Factor required to compensate for the non-linear discharge characteristic of a battery.
* The HP300ULX is capable of housing batteries up to 12 AH. Batteries larger than 12 AH require a UL listed
external battery cabinet such as the BB-26, BB-55F or other UL listed external battery cabinet.
