Installing heated handlebar grips (14 FRU}


■ WARNING
Steering angle constrained by routing of cables or Bowden cables not in
compliance with correct procedure.
Impairment of road safety.

Preliminary works
> Removing and installing the rear-wheel stand special tool (motorcycles
without centre stand} (Description in item: 46 52 510, Billed as a separate
item}
Remove the right handlebar weight
Remove the left handlebar weight
Removing left handlebar grip
Removing left multifunction switch
Increasing the play at the accelerator Bowden cable
Removing the right throttle grip
Removing seat

Main work

Install throttle grip (1) .
Position throttle grip (1) such that the mounting for throttle cable (Arrow)
points to the bottom.
Feed throttle cable (2) into multifunction switch (3) and attach nipple (4).

Assemble the housing halves of multifunction switch (1) ensuring that


the lug (Arrow) engages in the bore hole on the handlebars.

Install screws (3)


Position retaining plate (2) and install bolt (1) .

Push sleeve (1) upwards,


Loosen lock nut (2) and twist mirror (3)
Insert drilling template (No. 32 1 531) with the retaining pin into the
multifunction switch bore hole (Arrow) and clamp tight
Drill through the drill sleeve (4) and clean the drill sleeve (4) of swarf
several times while doing so.

• Remove drill:ng template (No. 32 1 531) .


• Secure mirror (3) with lock nut (2) and push sleeve (1) on.

• Push on heated grip (1) .
• Bend rubber grip (Arrow) up on the inner edge.

• Install screws (2) at top and bottom up to the equipment,

• Remove bolt (1) .
• Lubricate and install bolts (2) .

• Replace bolt (3) in the same way by a bolt (2) .

• Position switch (1) and install with screws (2) .

Installing the relay box with the wiring harness

Remove cable strap (arrow) and release connector for optional


accessories ( 1)

Connect relay box (1) on support (2)


Feed wiring harness (3) to the front.
Install cable clip (4) on front panel earner (5).
Secure the wiring harness (3) with cable straps (arrows).

Routing the throttle grip cable

Route cable (1) along the line bundle and secure with a rubber band (2)
and cable straps, if necessary.
» Route cable making sure it won't kink in any handlebar position or
contact trim panel components.


Routing the cable from the left heated grip and connector
WARNING
Steering angle constrained by routing of cables or Bowden cables not in
compliance with correct procedure.
Impairment of road safety.
• Check the freedom of movement of the handlebars.

Route cable of left heated grip (1) and cable of switch (2) along line
bundle and secure cable (2) with a rubber band (3) .
Route cable (1) under front panel carrier (4) and then route the cable (2)
through the front panel carrier (4) to the front.
Install the cable strap (arrow).

Connect the heated grip connectors on the left and right (1).
Connect the heated grip switch connector (2).
Connect the OA connector (3)
Connect the auxiliary connector for optional accessories (3) (to blind
cap).
Secure the connector to cable strap in a suitable way.
