Components Of Curriculum Design

Curriculum Design –it is the planning period when instructors organize the
instructional units for their course. It is involves planning activities, readings,
lessons, and assessments that achieve educational goals.

Four Components of Curriculum Design:


I. Aims, Goals and Objectives – it clearly defines the purpose and what the
curriculum is to be acted upon and try what to drive at. It is spell out what
is to be done. It tries to capture what goals are to be achieved, the vision,
the philosophy, the mission statement and objectives.

II. Subject Matter – it contains information to be learned in school. It is an
element or a medium through which accomplished.
III. Learning Experiences - these would convert the written curriculum to
instruction. Moreover, mastery is the function of the teacher direction and
students activity with the teacher supervision.
IV. Evaluation Approaches – it identifies the quality, effectiveness of the
program, process and product of the curriculum.
