INTRODUCTION

World is transforming towards to digital technologies. Industry 4.0 is the buzz word
across manufacturing sector and aligning with the same the other sectors are
transforming accordingly. Digital readiness is the key for surviving and thriving any
business in the contemporary world. Construction industry is not an exception and is
observed with many digital technologies transforming the construction industry with
Construction 4.0.

This is first ever course designed for Construction Industry professionals to connect
with technology which is generally considered as alien by Civil, Electrical and
Mechanical engineers. The program inculcates latest technologies e.g. Mobile tech,
Drone, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence (AI)/ Machine Learning (ML), Augmented
Reality (AR)/ Virtual Reality (VR), Big Data, Internet of Things (IOT), Block chain,
BIM, 3D Printing, smart buildings, modelling software, sensors, wireless devices,
latest equipment etc. that will empower & prepare professionals for future ready.

NICMAR Hyderabad has developed this customized program to empower the

construction managers to bring in awareness and knowledge in advanced digital
technologies across the life cycle of construction projects.

 BRIEF PROFILE OF PROGRAMME COORDINATOR

Prof. Raja Sekhar Mamillapalli has been associated with NICMAR, Hyderabad since
2013 and is currently working as an Assistant Professor. Last 8 years had been active
member with American Society for Safety Professionals (ASSP) in promoting safety
through teaching, training and research. Prof. Raja Sekhar acquired his BE (Civil
Engineering) from Anna University, Chennai. Subsequently, after clearing the GATE, he
completed his M.Tech in Structural Engineering from NIT Rourkela. Due to his interest in
teaching and research, he worked as a faculty with various institutions of repute, including
the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES). Presently, he is pursuing his
Ph.D in Construction Management from KIIT (Bhubaneswar). Prof. Raja Sekhar
Mamillapalli has also completed his MBA in Human Resource Management from
Pondicherry University and a PG Diploma in Aviation Law and Air Transport
Management (PGDALATM) and PG Diploma in Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR)
from NALSAR, Hyderabad. Prof Raja Sekhar Mamillpalli is also alumni of IIM
Ahmedabad completing FDPM.

Overall 13 years of experience with association with more than 12 premium institutes
across country with over 60 + research articles in conferences and journals of national and
international repute. Worked with UPES- Dehradun, SPSU - Udaipur, Bharath
University – Chennai, B S Abdur Rahman University – Chennai.

Prof. Raja Sekhar Mamillapalli has acquired expertise in various areas of Construction
industry Green and Lean Construction, Project Management, Contract Management,
Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) with various research papers in national and
international conferences as well as publications to his credit. He provided consultancy
services in this regard to the real estate industry.
