Reflection Paper (Individual Assignment)

My name is Aung Pyae Sone and here today I will talk about what characteristics I have
as a critical thinker and what characteristics I do not have as a critical thinker. As there are many
characteristics and skills which can be considered as a critical thinker, I will point out three skills
that I have already had and the other three that I still don’t have.

First of all, I want to mention three skills that I have as a critical thinker. The very first
one is “active listening” which is a must skill that everybody should have. Active listening is
essential skill because the more you listen carefully, the more you can find out the solutions. As
active listening skill can be referred as a main core skill, so this is important for critical thinkers
and for everyone.

Secondly, I am a curious person. Everything that is happening around the world and
around me, I want to know everything and I know everything. Todays is like IT age and
everything happening around us could be easily found on internet. The reason why this curiosity
skill is important is so important for critical thinkers is that curiosity is somewhat important.

Thirdly, observation is one of my best skills. When something is happening around us, I
have to dig around that case from top to bottom. This is because I need to know the whole
process for better explanation.

On the other hand, I have some weakness that I need to take care of myself. Self-
discipline and self-aware is my weakness for a critical thinker. Sometimes I feel dump because I
don’t know what is happening to me. Lacking seeing the bigger picture characteristic is my
weakness skill since I am so stupid what someone is trying to say. I have to even ask three or
four time what someone is really want to say. It feels suck and sometimes I feel bad for myself.
Lastly, it could be said one of my worst characteristics. It is humility. Sometimes I might
convince others that my suggestion or solution is the best one compared to others. As a result, I
always ended up arguing with them all the time. This is bad and now I try to be more mature
person.

In conclusion, everybody has their strengths and weakness. The ones that I mention on
this page earlier are my good and bad characteristic for critical thinker and I am trying to
improve myself better as a good critical thinker.
