    Subject: Reorganization of the Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC)

    WHEREAS, the state through R.A. No. 7160 otherwise known as the Special Protection of
    Children Against Child Exploitation and Discrimination Act, recognizes the need to provide special
    protection to children from all forms of abuses, neglect, cruelty, exploitation and discrimination and other
    conditions prejudicial to their development;

    WHEREAS, in order to strengthen the implementation of the said act, in the barangay level, the
    Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC) must be reorganized;

    NOW THEREFORE, I, _________________________________, Punong Barangay of


    ______________, Sibalom, Antique, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law do hereby order:

    Section I. The Barangay Council for the Protection of Children is hereby reorganized and is
    composed of the following:

    Section II. The Barangay Council for the Protection of Children shall perform the following
    functions:
    a. Plan, promote and institutionalize child friendly policies, programs and projects;
    b. Respond immediately to issues and concerns affecting children;
    c. Optimize and mobilize local resources;
    d. Train, educate and mobilize community leaders and families;
    e. Empower and assist in organizing the children sector in the community;
    f. Coordinate local initiatives for children including linkages and networking with other
    agencies and institutions;
    g. Test and replicate model programs to protect children; and
    h. Systematize development management including the establishment and maintenance of
    database for children.

    Section III. This order shall take effect immediately.
