Ans. The cunning innkeeper demanded Ali to pay for the smell of
the soup. When Ali said he had no money, the innkeeper
dragged him to the court.

3. What payment did Hodja decide that the innkeeper should


receive?
Ans. Hodja took out a bag of coins and shook it. He decided that
the clinking sound of the coins would be the payment for the
smell of the soup.

4. Do you think Hodja’s judgement was fair? Give reasons for


your answer.
Ans. Hodja’s judgement was clever and fair. The innkeeper was
being greedy and cunning by demanding payment for the smell
of his soup from poor Ali. Thus, Hodja’s judgement rightfully
taught the innkeeper a lesson.

Ans. Misty ate brown sugar from the lowest shelf of the kitchen cupboard and nibbled upon a raisin on
top of the shelf.

3. What did Misty eat as fast as he could?

Ans. Misty ate the raisins as fast as he could.

4. What were the three dangers the mice ran away from?

Ans. The mice ran away from Mary the cook, Bella the cat and the trap.

5. What did Mickey think of life in the country?

Ans. Mickey thought that the life in the country was too simple.

6. Would you also have wanted to go home to the country if you were Misty?

Ans. Life in a country is simple and peaceful. People in a country lead a healthy lifestyle as well.
Considering this, I would definitely wish to live in a country if I were Misty.

Ans: The boy ordered beans, bread and meat, as he spread out the
table cloth.

4. How was the innkeeper punished?


Ans: The innkeeper was beaten by a queer-looking stick until he
told the boy where each thing that he had stolen could be
found.

Ans: The boy found the ram in the barn.

6. When the boy called the North Wind a cheat, did the North
Wind get angry? Why/why not?
Ans: The North Wind did not get angry because he seemed to have
known who the thief was. That is why he did not say anything
and gave the boy a stick and told him to go back.
