ABSTRACT

The City Government of Calapan is implementing the manual

system of (new/renewal) tricycle franchise application: processing,
registration and assessment of road worthiness, making it time consuming
and error-prone. It is in this context that the author came up with this
capstone project to make (new/renewal) tricycle franchise application
more systematic and user-friendly for the city government. The Tricycle
Franchise Registration Information System (TFRIS) for the Business
Permit and Licensing Section (BPLS), City Treasury Department (CTD)
and City Engineering and Public Works Department (CEPWD) is a
desktop application designed to improve the delivery of services of the
City Government of Calapan. The system was designed using the
following application programs: Visual Basic.Net for the platform of
desktop application, SAP Crystal Report/RDLC Report applications which
provide supports for viewing report format, Adobe Photoshop CS for the
design of the User Interface, MySQL Server as database management
system software; and MySQL Connector which connects between
database and the system. The desktop application was evaluated by a
pool of IT experts as well as non-IT experts using an instrument patterned
after the ISO 9126. The overall composite mean rating is 4.55, which
implies that the system is functional, reliable, usable, efficient,
maintainable and portable.
