A day to remember.

“Harold!!” echoed a voice from the top floor of the mansion which stood
tall and wide, a magnificent structure, an epitome of excellence, the sound
of the feet of the servants could be heard along the hall. Everyone was at his
own business, the butler making sure everything in the mansion runs unto
perfection. “Harold!” came the voice again, but this time a bit louder than
before “What is it?” ... “Why are you yelling?” asked Harold in a mocking
tone, a young guy with average build, blonde hair with gold colored eyes,
smiling with mirth.
Walking nonchalantly up to where the voice was coming from, He came to
see his cousin standing in front of her room, her features highlighted by the
chandeliers, her green eyes full of rage, you could literally see fire in them,
“Why?”, asked Ella “Why what?” Harold asked, in such a dramatic way as
if he hadn’t got a clue as to why she was in rage right now, that made her
charge at him with her feet swift as the wind.
As expected, she charged at him vigorously, and he dodging her every
move effortlessly “What did I do?” the smile still stuck on his lips, “Where
did you take it?” Starring at him, still trying to calm herself down so she
won’t do anything rash. “Take what?” Asked Harold again, still taunting
her with his words.
In a moment the surrounding area of where they were was getting filled
with air that came vehemently through the windows of the mansion as she
began to speak under her breath, everything around was being held up in
the air spinning and encircling her, with her eyes now purple, she was
speaking incoherently “Hey, calm down, don’t get yourself all worked up”,
said Harrold again and this had her raise her hand up at him, then up
towards the ceiling, and he went up in uniform with the graceful movement
of her hands. “Tell me where it is, NOW”, she raged, the anger mixed with
a little bit of hysteria becoming more visible on her face, when no reply
came forth, she swung her hand across the hall, “Whhoooaaaaa!!!” making
him fly across the corridor and straightly headed to the wall.

“Umph” ... He landed on the wall with a loud thud, leaving some cracks on
the wall behind him, getting up to have a seat on the spot where he had
collided with the stone wall, he saw his beloved cousin slowly take one step
after another towards where he sat right now, like a predator stalking its
prey, her eyes looked at him and he coughed “I told not to touch my things,
AM I RIGHT?” She asked still a few feet away, she tilted her head and a
hysterical smile came peeking on her face.

Chapter 1 Page 5
Before he could utter a single word, she lifted him up with the mere wave
of her hand with her palm wide open, “You just can’t listen, can you?” Ella
said. And in a flash, they were in her room.
While he wrecked his brain to find the right words that can be used to
pacify the wrath of this witch in front of him, her other hand that was
clutched into fists turned loose and was brought up and sparks came to fly
out of it, “How would you like to know how it feels?.” She said starring
admiringly at her hand that had become electrified, and gave a him a
glance. getting ready to electrocute him without any form of regret, he
shook his head to indicate the word ‘no’, because he couldn’t speak right
now as a result of her magic on him squeezing his insides, just when she
was about to let the lightning bolt loose, there came a knock on the other
side of the door.
Hearing the knock on the door, she stopped herself from letting go and
stared back at the door, heading to the door, while leaving Harold still
hanging on air, she arranged her dress that had gone errant due to the
previous wind that surrounded her and her dear cousin Harold, she put up a
small smile on her lips, in attempt to appear calm and composed to
whoever might be at the door. She opened it and a maid came into view, a
slender girl with bright blue eyes, with eyes on the floor she said “Mistress
Ella, there’s someone here for you.” her eyes still on the floor, taken aback
by the sudden visit she received, “Who is it?.” she asked in curiosity, her
purple eyes slowly returning to its normal state.
“Miss Alexandra Flynn, mistress.” said the maid softly with a voice so
soothing, ‘oh she’s here’ Ella wasn’t expecting her to be here, at least for
the next three days, “Okay, take her to the courtyard, and tell the butler to
set tea for the both of us.” Ella said softly to the maid “Yes mistress.” And
with that the maid went her way to relay the message to the witch that was
at her doorstep, and the butler that had gone to attend to more important
house matters.
Entering again into her room, she turned to Harold and said “This time you
got lucky,” with a stern look on her face “The same can’t be said for the
next time”. And with that she threw him out her window. After getting
herself ready, she stole a glance of herself from the mirror on her bedside
table,

Chapter 1 Page 6
she smiled at herself and then headed out to meet her guest. Coming out of
the mansion and reaching the courtyard, she saw the lady her maid spoke
to her about, a slender lady a bit taller than herself, with a smile so
enchanting.

“Ella” said the lady with a smile on her face coming close to Ella, Ella
gave a heartwarming smile as she approached the lady in front of her
“Sandy” called Ella, “How have you been?” asked Sandy who was right in
front of Ella. Before she could give a reply to the question that was asked,
she found herself in Sandy’s bosom, they both shared a hug, “Better than
most witches” came the reply from Ella, and the both of them sat together
on the seats available outside that followed after a small round table.

Shortly, the butler arrived with two maids following diligently behind him
with their heads bowed, so as not to disrespect the lady that was a visitor
to the mansion, the butler poured some tea into Alexandra’s cup, and then
in Ella’s also “Thank you.” said Alexandra to the butler, who in return
gave a simple bow and then asked lady Ella with his head still bowed “Is
there anything else you would need?, lady Ella.” She simply shook her
head to a no which got the butler turning around and moving back into the
mansion with the two other maids “Wow... Is that your butler?” asked
Alexandra.
“Yes... He is” coming the reply from Ella, “Wait....you’re telling me that
THAT is your butler?” Alexandra asked in disbelief, stressing the word
‘that’ in her statement, with a smile creeping slowly onto her face. “Yeah,
unfortunately he is” said Ella. The butler was a regular human who came
from one of the towns in Izghun, living alone because he lost his family in
one of the attacks of gangster werewolves. “What do you mean
unfortunately?.” asked Alexandra in confusion, “He lost his wife and
children in one of the raids planned and arranged by the Werewolves. So,
since he didn’t have anyone else, he decided to travel down here, to
Cinamrath.”

She paused a bit and saw the subtle expression on her friend’s face, then
continued “He came on my doorstep in search of a job, and I was falling
short of a butler, so I decided to give him the opportunity.” “And mind you,
He’s a vampire now, a turned one.” and with that she stopped talking to
take a sip of tea. On hearing this, Alexandra sat there speechless as she
couldn’t conjure the words to express what she thought, she finally spoke
“Why did he decide to turn into one of the vampires?.” she asked, “For
protection, at least that’s what I know.” came the nonchalant reply from
Ella’s lips.

‘Hmmmm’. Thought Alexandra before she said “But he is a handsome

fellow.” with a mischievous smile coming on to take over her face, “Aren’t
they all.” came the dry reply from Ella, “Yeah, yeah, I know you don’t like
vampires, but that doesn’t mean you should be a killjoy.” stated Alexandra
after sipping from her cup of tea before continuing to say “Well, that’s not
why I’m here even.” Ella gave the lady in front of her a stern look,
wondering what could possibly have made her come this day without
informing her first. “There’s an urgent matter that needs your attention.”
said Alexandra, then taking another sip of tea, she continued “The order of
the witches has begun to falter.”
With a slightly confused expression on her face, Ella starred at the lady in
front of her with one brow raised “What do you mean,

Chapter 1 Page 8
Page 5

‘Falter’.” asked Ella in her smooth voice looking at Alexandra.

“The higher ups are going a bit off track”, “Their ways and
dealings don’t portray the example our ancestors set for us.” Ella
starred at her keenly, listening to every word she had to say.
“For centuries we’ve been living in peace with the other creatures
in this world” Alexandra continued to say, “Without their
knowledge of even our very existence”, “Living in the shadows,
but I think all of that is about to change”. “What do you mean,
change?”, asked Ella feeling slightly indifferent, with a straight
face. “There have been multiple sightings of witches, dead
witches,” The Elders did conduct a ritual to find out the cause of
the deaths of our kin, and guess what they found out?”. Alexandra
asked in a hushed tone and looked at Elle, her eyes sparkling.
“What did they find?”, Elle returned the question back to her as it
was a fact that she was not a fan of guessing games and never
played any. “The results told that the gruesome deaths that
occurred, were orchestrated by werewolves, humans, some
vampires and a few witches, the werewolves did most of the
killing”. and with that Alexandra stopped her speech to take
another sip from her teacup.
While up in Harrold’s room, he took a look at his reflection in the
mirror on the wall, smiling at his reflection when he heard a loud
cry. The voice shrill and harsh on his sensitive ears. “What was
that?” he asked no one in particular as no one was in his room
except himself, with a puzzled look on his face. And he heard the
voice again, it sounded like it was in pain, he quickly dashed out
of his window into the woods, in the direction where the voice
was coming from.
Out in the courtyard, Alexandra and Ella still on the matter at
hand about the witches, oblivious to what had transpired up in
Harrold’s room, were intent on finishing their tea when Ella
called a maid “Charlotte!” and in a few moments, one of her
maids appeared in front of her; the same one who informed her of
the Lady’s arrival. “Yes mistress,” said the maid in her melodious
voice with her head

Chapter 1 Page 9
Page 6
down. “Go call Harrold over here, tell him to get down here
now”. “Yes mistress” and with that the maid left them again.
“Wait, Harrold is home?” asked Alexandra in a tone tainted with
disgust with a tinge of surprise. “Unfortunately, yes, he is.”
Harrold was so annoying; he annoys a person even to the point
where the person wouldn’t rethink when it comes to letting him
rot in wheresoever.
“That guy is so annoying.” said Alexandra, “Oh, really,” Elle
said in a dramatic manner “But I thought you were his lover, his
sweetheart, the one who he a has soft spot for” asked Elle with a
sarcastic smile slowly coming to latch itself on her face. “Oh
please, that guy, I would kill him myself if given the
opportunity.” just then Charlotte came back and told Harrold was
not in the building, and Ella gave her a silent nod, and she got
back to work. “Let’s go out today, together.” said Ella to have
Alexandra turn her face with a smile. “Where do you have in
mind?”. “Don’t worry, you’ll see when we get there.” Elle said
with a smile on her face, and in a blink of an eye, the two witches
disappeared from where they were.
Appearing in the middle of nowhere, the two women stood
silently watching the breathtaking view ahead of them in
admiration, the sun giving the surrounding environment a
peculiar mood. “Where are we?” asked Alexandra in surprise as
she couldn’t imagine where they were and believe that it was
actually real. “Is this actually real, or am I dreaming?” she asked
in pure amazement as she hadn’t seen anything close to what she
saw now. She couldn’t help but smile “Yeah” Ella said with a
smile on her lips “It’s one of my favorite places in the world” she
said as she turned to face the beautiful scenery “It’s a place
where I sometimes go to clear my head, and also to get some
time away from that annoying creature called Harold.” “Wow”
Alexandra said, “This is nice” she paused a bit and then “How
did you find this place out?” she asked still looking at nowhere in
particular s her eyes couldn’t get enough of what was before it “I
created this universe” came the reply from Ella to only receive a
look of disbelief accompanied with a laugh from Alexandra
which lasted

Chapter 1 Page 10
Page 7
for at least two minutes, She stopped when she saw the stoic
face Ella held up
“You must be joking right?”. “No, it’s not a joke dear” She
said. “How?” Alexandra asked, “How did you manage to
create this beautiful, serene place that looks so out of this
world?” She asked and Ella only let out a smile and said “I
was trying out an experiment on this creature” she paused a
bit “It was actually a statue at first, but I gave life to it and
decided to test a new spell on it.” She said “But
unfortunately, the experiment ailed the surrounding areas and
it was a miracle for me to be standing here right now talking
to you.” She said with disappointment in her voice. Seeing
the look on Ella’s face, Alexandra quickly stepped in to say
“Don’t feel bad about yourself” she said in attempt to cheer
he friend up “Look at this place” she continued as she
gestured her hands towards the horizon that stretched far and
wide “It’s magnificent” she said “Thanks Alexandra” Ella
said, “It really means a lot to me, But that’s not all” she said
as she looked at Alexandra “Really?” Alexandra asked,
“What could be more fascinating than this?”.
“Well, a few months after the accident, I came again to the
spot where the intended experiment was held and not only
found this…” she said as she waved her hands across the air
referring to the wonderland she had made. “… I also found
out that this place could project the real world at my will and
you can actually track anybody at all from in here and also it
can take you there instantly.” She concluded. “You are one
gifted young witch” came the compliment from Alexandra
with a smile on her face. “Would you like a demonstration?”
she started again with a smile on her face “Yes, I’d really like
that” came the reply from Alexandra and immediately Ella
slowly raised her hand up in midair and shortly blue flames
came alive from the palm of her hands. She continued for a
minute or two and finally let it go and the both of them
watched as the flames lifted off from the palm of her hand
and went up slowly into the sky “When I give the signal,

Chapter 1 Page 11
Page 8
you tell it who you’re looking for and then…bam!” She said
and received a nod from the lady beside her.
Eventually the time came and “Now” Ella said in a whisper
and Alexandra got her cue and said “I would like to see
Harold” she said solemnly. Immediately, the flame began to
change Its colour in the sky and finally exploded and spread
across the sky and Harold was seen walking in the forest.
“Ehem” Ella said with a smile prying on her lips only to
receive an eyeroll from Alexandra.
Harold, now in the forest, walking briskly, his feet crunching
because of the dry leaves on the forest floor, coming close to
an old tree, he stopped for a moment with his eyes closed, he
listened for the voice but not for long, he heard the cry again,
this time it was closer and more clearer, he could tell it was a
lady’s voice. Walking to the spot where the voice came
from, he found no one there, “Hmmmm, there’s something in
here, something which I can’t quite put my hand on, yet.”
thought Harrold to himself, he then decided to head out of the
forest and just then he heard the voice sobbing softly.
Heading down to where the sound was coming from, he
found a girl sitting on the floor with her back against a tree
trunk “Are you alright?” He bent down to sit on his heels and
asked the girl in front of him who in turn didn’t reply, “Is
everything okay with you?” she still didn’t reply him, tears
flowing down her eyes and streaming down her cheeks.
Stretching his hand out to her, he said “Come with me, this is
no place for a little girl like yourself” with the thought that
she was probably lost or something of that sort, and suddenly
she let out a shrill cry, which had him flying across the forest.

Chapter 1 Page 12
Page 9
Landing on his back against a tree, he winced a bit, holding
on to one side of his body. “Oh my god” came the voice of
the little girl who sat at the foot of the tree, as if waking up
from a trance and realizing where she was and what had
happened, she took to her feet and went to where Harold lay
with a small pool of blood surrounding the wound he had
sustained due to the crash he had “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean
to,”. “Ah, it’s nothing,” Harold replied, trying to be
composed in front of the girl, “I’m really, really sorry” she
said with a voice so smooth and enchanting that could throw
any man off guard, coming close to him “You need a doctor”.
Who was this beautiful damsel that she should care about him
needing a doctor? thought Harold to himself, she must be a
stranger in these parts, after a little while he said “You can’t
find any in here”. “I’m terribly sorry for what happened” she
repeated once more and this got his mind rolling.
“What really brought you in here in the first place?”. Asked
Harold with a quizzical look on his face while starring into
her mellow eyes that had a certain alluring feature. “I can’t
tell.” She said bluntly while trying to help him stand up,
“Ah!” Harold winced “What do you mean, ‘You can’t tell?”
He asked her with one of his brows raised up, waiting for an
answer. she still didn’t give any reply instead she helped him
in attempt to get him out of the forest and find a doctor to
tend him, while still trying to leave the forest, his mind
couldn’t help but go on a rampage as to what she was doing
in here all alone and crying in the middle of the forest.
Reaching the main sandy road which was hinted slightly with
gallops, he stared at her for a few good seconds without her
letting her notice his eyes on her, she looked beautiful with
her face tainted with worry for him thought Harold to
himself, and this made his heart melt at the thought of it. on
reaching a slightly shaded area she said “Take a rest here
while I flag down the next possible passing carriage” with
that she left him and went further bits away from where he
sat.

Chapter 2 Page 13
Page 10
Her features becoming more visible and more enticing with the
sun accenting her skin giving her a golden sheen, her hips well
shaped, her hair swayed left and right due to the wind that blew
soothingly. and he felt something stir in his bowels, a smile
slowly creeping on his face which still couldn’t be seen by this
unknown stranger, he turned his head away from her when he
heard a carriage coming in the distance “Hey!, a carriage is
coming.” he said to her and this had her turn to look at him to
see him pointing to the direction from which he was sure the
carriage was coming from.
Turning her head, she saw a carriage approaching in the
distance, it had white horses and it was a brown carriage. the
coachman sat in front of it steadfastly holding on to the reins of
the horses, as it came and closer to where they were she started
to wave her hands, gesturing for the carriage to stop the carriage
which was on its way, she waved vehemently for the carriage to
stop, it was a local carriage and unknown to her it had become
full with passengers who were passing through the town. it
came closer and “Stop,” she said waving at the coachman who
didn’t even care to spare her a look and continued his journey.
She subtly cursed him under her breath with anger visibly
showing on her face, she stood a little more on the road staring
left and right; as if another carriage would appear out of the
blue. Harold watching her every move which was becoming a
bit entertaining on his part, watching her pace from left to right
in frustration became somewhat amusing, and this brought a
smile on his face. Small drops of sweat hanged on to her
forehead only to be wiped out by the kerchief that was hidden
in her bosom.
Still pacing around when she noticed him staring at her and
smiling “Why are you smiling?” she asked him in confusion,
her voice tainted with a hint of tiredness, wondering what could
possibly be the cause of his smiling. “You look cute when you
worry”, Harold said, and this made her look at him eyes wide in
disbelief at what he just said. “Really now?” she asked him,
now getting a bit irritated “That’s what

Chapter 2 Page 14
Page 11
you have to say?” she heaved a sigh and continued “You are in
a bad condition, and this is all you can say to the person who is
trying to help you here”.
“Look who’s talking” Harold shot back at her with the same
vigor, “If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t be in the state I am
currently in” he said, looking at her noticing the shift of
expression on her face. she looked at him in utter disgust,
“Okay, now it’s my fault?”. She asked, her countenance
changing slowly. Harold stared at her still smiling, “If you had
minded your business, I don’t think you would be in this state
either. Have you thought about that?”. she said angrily and
then rolled her eyes at him.
The day had gone a bit past noon, and there was still no sign of
any carriage on the road, Harold looked at her after a while and
said “Why don’t you take a rest?” he asked her not really
looking at where she was, and she not willing to, involuntarily
went to take a seat at a much more shaded area not far from
where Harold was. She stared at him wondering who he was,
and how he found her out there in the middle of the forest, the
same forest where all who go in never come back the same
way.
After a few more minutes another carriage came to pass but
finally stopped as the coachman in front had seen an exhausted
lady standing a few meters away from the moving carriage
waving violently for him to stop “Sir please, take him to a
doctor” she said as she came to stand at the side of the carriage
close to the coachman who evidently saw the little beads of
perspiration that came to form on her forehead “What about
you?” the coachman asked looking intently at her as she stood
there with her kerchief in her hand softly dabbing the little
streaks of sweat from her forehead
“I’ll be fine” she said with a kind smile on her face as she
stared into the eyes of the coachman “He’s the one who needs
help”...she continued while she stared at Harrold who laid
there on the floor at the shade she had kept him “This is for the
fare” she said as she finally

Chapter 2 Page 15
Page 12
returned her gaze to the coachman who sat on his seat and hadn’t
broken his gaze from her, gauging her with his eyes till he was
snapped out of his daydream by her soft voice “Could you help me
bring him in?” “Oh” the coachman said realizing himself, he stepped
down and the both of them came to where Harold lay on the floor.
“That’s very kind of you” Harold said with a smile watching the girl
and the coachman help him up to his feet “It warms my heart” he
commented only to receive an eye roll from her “Well don’t expect it
twice” came the sharp reply from her as they led him into the carriage
and this brought a strange feeling of satisfaction to him. The
coachman hauled him into the carriage seat and closed the door, but
before he could, he was stopped midway by Harold’s hand “Hey
miss” his voice said from the inside of the carriage making her look
back at him as she had been previously facing another direction “You
haven’t told me your name” he continued to say, “You’ll find out
someday” turning her head, she said with a small smile on her lips
that didn’t really give a message, and with that she closed the door of
the carriage and alerted the coachman and the coach slowly started
moving.
She walked slowly and silently shaking her head as she thought about
Harold and how he was so unbearable with his behavior like that of a
child, but, she didn’t fail to notice something in his eyes, something
that reminded her of someone dear to her but it wasn’t long before she
perished the thought and walked down the footpath before her. Harold
watched her as she disappeared into the distance with a small smile
coming to latch itself on his face. Minutes went by slowly as he
waited for the carriage to reach its destination but it seemed
impossible but he had no other alternative but to patiently wait for the
carriage to eventually come to a stop
After getting back to town, Harold nonchalantly got out of the
carriage and thanked the coachman with a polite smile on his face that
went from ear to ear “She’s a beauty” he said to the coachman

Chapter 2 Page 16
Page 13
still holding up the smile as he stared dreamily in the direction from
whence they came.
The coachman silently watched Harold as he stood there daydreaming
and shook his head, but that didn’t mean he didn’t notice the way she
was blessed with exquisite features. He finally stopped himself from
watching Harold and in less than a minute, the horses started moving
and he disappeared into the distance. Harold hearing the horses
neighing as they moved along the footpath leading towards another
town turned his head and took another glance at the carriage and then
decided to go somewhere.
“Hmmmmm” Harold said softly, like in a whisper as he walked
slowly down the road taking his time as he didn’t have anything
important to attend to. Coming to stop in front of a building that
looked old, he took a deep breath and raised his hands to knock on the
door “Who is it” came a voice from the other side of the door that
stood facing him “It’s Harold” Harold said with the same vigor as the
person who was inside the house “open up” he continued, “I’ll be
with you in a moment” the voice said again as a loud crashing sound
came from within the building. Finally, the door opened and an old
looking lady not too old though, with one eye which had gone blind
due to a duel she had on one of those events in the days when the law
allowed physical violence to take place openly as part of their annual
ceremonial entertainment.
“Hey” “What was that noise?” Harold asked with a straight face as
the door opened fully and the woman shifted a little bit out of the way
and gestured for him to come inside. The house was fairly furnished
with the few necessary things a house should have, she wasn’t an
elite, but she also wasn’t one of the lower-class people in the
community. She made a decent living “Oh its nothing” she said, “Just
some dishes getting broken” she said only to receive a stoic
expression from Harold “What brings you here on this fine noon?”
she asked going to take a seat across the table from where Harold sat
comfortably twiddling his fingers.

Chapter 2 Page 17
Page 14
“I just came for a visit” he said raising his head to look at her
with a smile on his face. “Hmmmmm really now?” she asked
with the same enthusiasm that exuded from Harold as he smiled
facing one of the windows that had sunlight streaming down into
the room “I don’t think so” “I have a feeling you’re here for
something else” she continued as the smile that she held on her
face slowly dissipated. Hearing this the smile on his face only
broadened showing off his clean white fangs, he turned to see the
stoic expression on her age-stricken face “How do you do that?”
He asked still smiling “You always know what’s on my mind”
“You only come around when you need something” came the
dull reply from the woman as she stands up to go into the kitchen
to check on her boiling broth, “Too bad I can’t have you” she
stopped in her steps and turned to face him after hearing those
words.
She was way older than he was, but her beauty hadn’t faded
away, she still had that slender figure that most men in the land
admired, and he wasn’t an exception, she silently shook her head
and continued in her steps into the kitchen which was bit darker
than the room she just left. The orange glow of the flickering
candles gave the room a dark-orange delineation as she stirred
her pot that boiled furiously on the tripod stand that stood on a
raised platter.
“What do you need?” She asked, ignoring the words Harold had
spoken as she heard footsteps coming to stop at the door “I came
across a strange creature today” he said solemnly, “While in the
forest” he continued, “It was after I just had a lovely time with
my dearest cousin Ella, that I heard someone scream in pain
which resounded from the forest” he stopped talking to take a
breath, the woman listened silently without interrupting him in
his speech as she turned the spoon to stir the contents inside the
boiling pot
“As a good person that I am” he said walking around the kitchen
“I decided to go take a look at what was happening in there”
“Mhmmm?” She hummed in question without looking at him
and walked to a cabinet and opened it and brought out a bottle
which was

Chapter 2 Page 18
Page 15
filled with a white powder-like substance “I went in search of the
voice, and when I finally found the person, it was a girl sitting in
the middle of the Forrest crying” he stopped talking for some
seconds and then “The first thing that came to mind was, the
question of how she got into the forest and why was she crying”.
“Oh really?” The woman asked “You went into the forest and
saw a little girl crying?” She asked in unbelief as she had
dropped her spoon on the wooden table to listen carefully and
clearly understand what he was saying “Like you ever cared
about anyone else except for when you have a trick up your
sleeves” she said with indignation in her tone of voice. “Hey, I
may be a nuisance at times, but this time it was real” he said with
a straight face to make his point.
“Oh, whatever you say” she said as she rolled her eyes “As I was
saying.” he continued after some minutes of glaring at her for
berating him like that. But come to think of it, she was right. He
always had something brewing under that warm smile he always
carries about. “I saw her sitting on the forest floor, crying and
decided to help” “-By help, you mean?” “I asked her some
questions, but to no avail. All I could get was more tears and
wails from her” he said as his expression changed “but that’s not
even the shocking part” “Tell me, please” she said mockingly as
she stared at him while he spoke, this had him shaking his head,
but continued nonetheless “When I went closer to give her a
hand for her to be able to stand up. She screamed at me with her
eyes filled with pain. And the next thing I know, I flew across the
forest”.
Hearing this, the lady burst into laughter, so hysterical one would
wonder what was funny that made her so merry just as Harold
stood watching her laugh her heart out at his story
“Mmmmhmmmm” she said still in a laughing mood “Well that
explains the injury at the back of your leg” He stood watching
her try to pull herself together, and when she finally did “That
girl” she said with a stoic expression on her face “Did she tell
you where she was from?” came the direct question from the
woman in front of him “It seems you are prone to

forgetfulness” he said sharply “Oh, I see.... She said thoughtfully
and then continued “She did not give the slightest information”
she concluded “Not even her name” added Harold solemnly as
he swiped his fingers on the table close to him and raised it up to
see the nonexistent dust particles that clung to them. “I wonder
if.” Harold trailed but only stopped in mid-sentence “You know
what? Nevermind.” He said as he started for the door.
“I’ve seen enough” Alexandra said with a little bit of anger
rising in her voice “Oh ho!” Ella said with a chuckle “What’s
wrong dear?” she continued still laughing “I thought you said
you didn’t like him?” … she said … “and here you are
becoming all tense and worked up?”. “You wouldn’t
understand.” came the reply from Alexandra “Is it because of
that girl he was with or the woman he went to meet?” she asked
still smiling “It’s just” Alexandra trailed off. “Nevermind” “Did
you notice something” Ella asked to only receive a blank look
from her friend beside her “That girl in the woods” she
continued “I’ve seen her somewhere before” she said as she held
the top of her lips with her thumb and index finger “But I just
can’t pinpoint where exactly”
“I know who she is.” Alexandra said in reply with a sour
expression on her face “She was one of my colleagues when I
was being tutored by a governess” she said bluntly with her eyes
looking down at the earth se stood on “From the looks of
things…” Ella said softly as she came to notice the expression
on Alexandra’s face “…I can see you don’t like her.”. Hearing
this, Alexandra lifted her eyes to meet Ella’s green ones “What
makes you say so?” she asked with one of her brows slightly
raised “It’s written all over your face.” Came the soft reply from
Ella’s lips only to be scoffed at by Alexandra “Say what you
will, like I even care”.
But the truth was that she cared a lot about the subject of their
discussion, she felt intimidated by the mere presence of that
young lady she saw some minutes ago with Harold while he was
in the forest. That girl was the girl every girl her age wished to
be.

her beautiful falling brown eyes her perfect figure made every
other girl next to her look flaccid, like they didn’t belong to
her class of being, and now seeing the way she held Harold
and the effect the girl had on him, made her heart rise in anger
with a side of jealousy attached to it, and fall short of hope
that she could ever compete with that girl if it ever comes to
the matter of men, especially Harold. Because she would
grievously fail.
After a little while, Ella got up from her position as she had
been lying with her back against the floor watching the sunset
in the sky “I think we should be going now” she said “Well, it
is getting late” Alexandra added “I will miss this place“ both
witches stood up from where they laid and “Hey, don’t you go
around telling on me” Alexandra said before Ella could start
the spell to tale them back home, “Hmmm?” she asked with a
quizzical look on her face “You know who I’m referring to”
she snapped with her voice slightly rising and instantly Ella
got the message “OH!, him.” She said as the smile slowly
began to creep onto her face again “Don’t worry, your secret’s
safe with me” she concluded, and Ella stretched her hand out
to Alexandra and as soon as their hands collided, they were
transported back to Ella’s courtyard.

Just another beautiful day in the town of Talunghax, just close to a
flowing stream along a hill stood a mansion so tall and wide with
a beautiful view of the town below it, laughter could be heard
vividly as there was a jester telling some jokes and doing some
acrobatics with sticks that hung in his mouth and in his hands with
fire lit at the opposite end of every one of them. Just a few
minutes later, a group of horses came to a stop “Alright men” said
one of the men who sat on a brown horse that had a streak of
white along the bridge of its nose. “Cheer up,” he continued
“We’ll it was a good chase man, but we’ll get it next time” he
concluded “It’s just, feels like the gods are against us”, another
young man cuts in bitterly as he sulked “Its been a rough day”
Jasper said as he mustered up a smile on his lips “Its time to hit
the hay” and with that he climbed down from his horse as he
watched and waved at his colleagues riding away into the
distance, after a while he decided to head inside and he went
straight to his room to freshen up and relax his muscles.
Simona stood still with lips parted in awe and watched a strange
occurrence that fine evening as she was just passing by her son's
bedroom and decided to stop and check on him because he had
had a busy day. “Jasper, what's wrong?” she asked frantically as
she went into the room to take a hold of him. She didn't
understand what was happening and what was going on right
there in her beloved son's bedroom. Jasper had just come back
from a hunt he had with some of his friends, he didn't like to be
disturbed by anyone, neither didn't he bother anyone with his
presence so he silently headed straight to his room “What is
wrong with you?.” she asked almost screaming at him as she
hadn't seen such thing before this moment where Jasper's blood
red eyes had gone white and she did not know what to do right
now and it was not normal for a vampire's eyes to go all white all
of a sudden. See shook him vigorously “Jasper” she called but his
body was still stiff and unshaking, She was a human being and
didn't know much about a vampire, she was just a normal young
lady with what she'd call a perfect life just before she crossed
paths with Craig, and for the start, she didn't know that he was one
of the night creatures that she had
