DONTs IN HANDLING FIREARMS

1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. 11. 12. Dont carry your firearm outside the premises of your place of work without a Mission Order. Dont assume is not loaded. A gun presumed unloaded can kill. Dont load your gun unless you are ready to use it, or told to do so by proper authority. Dont insert your trigger finger or any finger in the trigger guard unless you are ready to shoot. Dont pull the slide of your pistol without first removing its magazine. Dont jerk your gun in any manner. Dont point your gun to yourself or to anybody else, unless you are ready to shoot. Dont peep at the muzzle of your gun unless you have separated the barrel from the gun or removed away the drum from the barrel. Dont play your gun loaded or unloaded. Dont tinker with your gun. Give it to an expert the moment you notice anything wrong with it. Dont forget that accident dont just happen. They are caused by carelessness or plain stupidity. Dont allow your firearms to be dirty and rusty.

DONTs FOR THE SECURITY GUARDS
1. 2. Dont sit or lean against a wall, stand like a Match Box, converse unnecessarily with passersby and/or acquaintances and smoke while on post. Dont fraternize, be overly familiar with employees and personnel of the office/entity where you are assigned in the performance of your guard duties. Remember: Familiarity Breeds Contempt. Dont abandon giving the service and/or assistance to the customers of your client entity in order to attend to an official/officials of the entity, who arrive while you are still assisting the customers. Bear in mind that customers are very important persons (VIP) and therefore they should be accorded preferential treatment and consideration. Dont just display lack of keenness in and a feeling of responsibility for the job assigned you. Dont forget that you are a cog in the wheel of progress of the entity you are serving, and that in the success or failure of that entity you are serving, you are bound to have due share. Dont let down your guard. Always be on the alert both in mind and body.

RENDERING SALUTE
When to Salute: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. When reporting to superior officers. Salute is rendered by the Guard at halt position to Commissioned Officers of AFP and PNP. Salute is rendered at a distance of six (6) paces from the person saluted to. Salute is rendered only once, if the senior officer remains in the immediate vicinity and conversation takes place. In making reports, the person reporting salutes first regardless of rank and/or seniority.
When NOT to Salute: 1. 2. 3. 4. While at work. Indoors, except when reporting to officers. When carrying articles with both hands. When riding in a fast-moving vehicle and the other is dismounted.
TELEPHONE COURTESY
1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. Answer the telephone promptly. Speak directly to the transmitter. Establish your identity. Listen intently. Explain any delay in obtaining information. Avoid transferring call unnecessarily. Offer to take message. Ask questions tactfully. Apologize for mistakes. Replace receiver gently.
TEN COMMANDMENTS OF HUMAN RELATIONS

1. SPEAK TO PEOPLE. There is nothing as nice as a cheerful word of greeting. 2. SMILE AT PEOPLE. It takes 65 muscles to frown, only 15 muscles to smile. 3. CALL BY PEOPLE BY NAME. The sweetest music to anyones ear is the sound of his own name. 4. BE FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. If you would have friends, be friendly. 5. BE CORDIAL. Speak and act as if everything you do were a genuine pleasure. Be sincere in your dealings with others. 6. BE GENUINELY INTERESTED IN PEOPLE. You can like everybody if you try. 7. BE GENEROUS WITH PRAISE. Be cautious with criticism. Praise in public criticize in private. 8. BE CONSIDERATE WITH THE FEELING OF OTHERS. It will be appreciated. 9. BE THOUGHTFUL OF THE OPINION OF OTHERS. There are three sides to a controversy yours, the other person and the right one. 10. BE ALERT TO GIVE SERVICE. What counts most in life is what we do to others. It is more blessed to give than to receive. The more we give the more we receive.
